Backbase is currently looking for an enthusiastic candidate to join us as Senior Collections & Billing Specialist. The position offers an opportunity to work with a growing international Company that offers a diversified and dynamic working environment.

As a Senior Collections & Billing Specialist, you will be an integral part of the Accounts Receivable (AR) team, responsible for driving collections strategies, ensuring timely receipt of payments, billing & reconciling billing disputes, and maintaining financial accuracy and reconciliation of accounts to the general ledger.


Meet the job


• Proactively manage customer accounts to ensure timely and accurate collection of outstanding balances;
• Communicate with internal and external clients to clarify billing disputes, resolve overdue payments and provide account support to maintain strong customer relationships;
• Review contracts to identify any billing & payment specific requirements that could affect customer satisfaction and timely payments;
• Manage JIRA ticketing systems and address all billing queries;
• Register contracts in Netsuite (Sales Orders and Projects), manage billing process end-to-end (including auto-renewals, customer billing portals, correct taxes, etc);
• Support in posting of external customer cash receipts and monthly reconciliation of customer cash receipts;
• Coordinate AR related audit activities and ensure compliance with relevant financial and regulatory standards;
• Identify and implement process improvements within accounts receivable functions for operational efficiency. Record process changes in Playbook document or relevant support file;
• Actively support all ad-hoc projects as well as providing training within/across team as required;
• Work with ERP technology team to guarantee accuracy and data integrity of current ERP, implement improvements and support new integrations and solutions in scope of AR;
• Share weekly reports on billing & collections and financial metrics for internal and management review

How about you


• You have 5-7 years' experience of which 5+ years in a similar role;
• Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or Economics (Masters preferred);
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite;
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for data analysis and reporting;
• SaaS Experience;
• Excellent customer service skills;
• Fluent in English (spoken and written);
• Experience with sales tax, VAT and international taxes including WHT;
• Good understanding of R2R processes, revenue recognition.
