JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing the company's accounting operations, including the preparation of financial statements, maintaining general ledger accounts, performing reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and procedures. This shift would be 5am-1pm EST
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and analyze budgets and forecasts.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and provide insights.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Prepare and file tax returns and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Assist in the preparation for audits and liaise with auditors.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall financial goals.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Dext).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
- Strong understanding of GAAP or IFRS.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
