: Senior Accountant - Apparel Industry

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team in the apparel industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing valuable insights to support business decisions. This role requires a strong understanding of the apparel industry, including cost structures, inventory management, and financial forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management & Reporting

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closures.
• Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes.

2. Cost Accounting

• Monitor and analyze costs of production, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
• Implement and maintain cost accounting systems to support pricing strategies.

3. Inventory Management

• Reconcile inventory balances and ensure proper valuation in line with accounting principles.
• Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to optimize inventory levels.

4. Compliance & Audit

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, GST filings, and other statutory requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.

5. Process Improvement

• Identify and implement improvements in accounting systems and processes.
• Leverage technology to streamline financial reporting and analytics.

6. Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Mentor and guide junior accountants, ensuring skill development and adherence to best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, production, marketing) to support financial decision-making.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.

• Experience:
• 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the apparel or retail industry.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, SAP).
• Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, and other statutory requirements in the apparel industry.
• Technical Skills:
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
• Experience with inventory management and ERP systems.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
