Position Overview:
The Senior Accounts Manager will manage a portfolio of key accounts, providing financial oversight and guidance to clients. This role is responsible for maintaining strong relationships with clients, ensuring the accurate and timely management of their financial activities, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The Senior Accounts Manager will lead a team of junior accounts staff and work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve financial goals, deliver exceptional service to clients, and ensure the smooth running of accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Client Relationship Management:
• Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, acting as the main point of contact for all financial matters.
• Understand client needs, offering tailored financial solutions to support their goals.
• Provide proactive advice on financial strategies, reports, and performance to drive value for clients.
• Address and resolve any client concerns or issues in a timely manner, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
• Financial Management & Reporting:
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Monitor and manage accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely collection and payment processes.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring all relevant details are communicated effectively to clients.
• Ensure adherence to accounting principles, financial policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct financial analysis to provide insights and make recommendations for improvements in financial performance.
• Team Leadership & Mentoring:
• Lead and manage a team of junior accounts staff, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to enhance their skills and performance.
• Oversee the daily operations of the accounting team, ensuring tasks are completed on time and with a high level of accuracy.
• Ensure that the team follows established accounting policies and procedures and meet deadlines.
• Provide ongoing support for the professional development of team members, offering regular feedback and performance reviews.
• Strategic Financial Planning:
• Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies and budgets that align with company goals.
• Assist in forecasting and planning financial needs for clients based on industry trends and internal projections.
• Analyze and identify opportunities for cost savings, operational improvements, and revenue generation.
• Compliance & Auditing:
• Ensure that all financial activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
• Assist with internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation and facilitating the audit process.
• Monitor and enforce controls to mitigate financial risks and discrepancies.
• Account Management & Coordination:
• Manage the billing and invoicing process for key accounts, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing.
• Coordinate with other departments, such as sales, legal, and operations, to ensure smooth financial operations for clients.
• Provide support for contract negotiations, ensuring that financial terms and conditions are met.
• Process Improvement:
• Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and improve client satisfaction.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes, ensuring the team is informed and compliant.
Qualifications:
• Education:
• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (CPA, CMA, CA or MBA is a plus).
• Experience:
• 7+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or account management, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or senior-level position.
• Experience in managing key client accounts and providing financial oversight.
• Proven experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
• Skills & Abilities:
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and financial reporting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage client relationships and work with internal teams.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Working Conditions:
• Full-time, office-based or hybrid position depending on the company's policies.
• Some travel may be required for client meetings or business trips.
• Flexibility in working hours may be needed to meet client needs or deadlines.
