The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions. The role includes managing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining general ledger entries, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Senior Accountant will work closely with internal teams to provide accurate financial reporting and analysis, supporting the company's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
:
Financial Reporting
: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of GST compliance, TDS regulations, and experience with finalizing balance sheets. Proficiency in Inventory Management Systems (IMS).
The role involves preparing and analyzing financial records, ensuring accuracy in tax submissions, and maintaining regulatory compliance. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work within tight deadlines are essential.
Account Reconciliation
: Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure the accuracy of financial data, including cash, bank accounts, fixed assets, and liabilities.
General Ledger Management
: Maintain general ledger integrity by preparing, reviewing, and posting journal entries for accruals, prepayments, and adjustments.
Month-End Close
: Lead the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring all deadlines are met and financial results are reported accurately.
Budgeting and Forecasting
: Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts, and provide variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Internal Controls
: Ensure that internal accounting processes comply with regulatory requirements and corporate policies. Recommend improvements to internal control systems as needed.
Audit Support
: Prepare for and support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for financial records.
Tax Compliance
: Coordinate with tax advisors and ensure timely filing of corporate tax returns, GST, TDS and other regulatory requirements.
Accounts Payable and Receivable
: Oversee the accounts payable/receivable process, ensuring proper coding, payment, and reporting.
Ad Hoc Projects
: Support various finance and business projects, including process improvement initiatives and financial system upgrades.
