Service Operations providing (24/7) support to customers on services included within the private line and data product sets. This support includes accepting and progressing faults received directly from end customers and BT interfaces. It also includes proactive network surveillance and progressing faults to resolution with suppliers and vendors.Key Responsibilities:
Prepare high quality accurate technical solutions, designs, and documentation for internal consumption by 2nd/ 3rd line support.
Contribute to strategy discussion within the team.
Utilizing industry best practices for security, disaster recovery, business continuity, change control, the engineer will design, configure, manage and troubleshoot a variety of network firewall technologies.
Identify and make recommendations on improvements to Network & Security services.
Configure, deploy, monitor and maintain network security equipment including, but not limited firewalls.
Proxy Server configuration support.
F5 Security Module configuration support.
Ensure compliance with information security standards, the position will require working knowledge of supporting/related technologies, industry standards and best practices.
Own problems and escalate to external vendors as required.
Plan and constantly work on upgrading tech and product expertise. Contribute to the knowledge base/ Tech Forum. Ensure to gain Certified Expertise (Certifications) to provide better service.
Troubleshoot Product, Codes and Configuration issues.
Provide Firewall Security design and engineering support to business projects.
Debugging hardware & software system level problems in a multi-vendor multi-protocol network environment.
Firewall configuration support.
Troubleshoot every case (including backlog) assigned and drive towards positive resolution thereby to achieve customer satisfaction
Perform Problem Management activities on a regular basis to highlight and eliminated reoccurring issues.
Assist in client installations of security devices such as Juniper, Cisco Firewalls, Blue Coat Proxy, F5 etc.
Ensure contracted levels of performance are achieved by the proactive surveillance, event control and
escalation management of performance related incidents.
Implement policies and rules as required by the access requirements.
Install firmware and patch updates.What you\'ll be doing1. Supports the delivery of routine daily activities and is accountable for system design, build, testing, validation, maintenance, and ongoing support of all network infrastructure components.
2. Assists the implementation of enhanced network technology that aligns to customers\' strategic direction for enterprise and remote site connectivity.
3. Follows standards for global network infrastructure, including wireless, LAN and SD-WAN networks and connectivity.
4. Supports the installation, testing, and setup of new network hardware both physical and virtual (firewalls, routers, switching, monitoring) hardware and software.
5. Executes engineering efforts to ensue currency and supportability of networking technology.
6. Collates data, reports and information supporting technology lifecycle planning, including contributing to the development of the technology roadmaps and Network Health Assessments.
7. Organises material and data for documentation, knowledge transfer and training to successfully land new solutions into the support organisation.
8. Undertakes activities that contribute to the implementation of core and cloud infrastructure security to manage risks and exposure.
