A hotel security officer's duties include:
• Protecting guests and staff Security officers are responsible for keeping guests and staff safe and responding to their needs. They also ensure the safety of hotel property.
• Preventing criminal activity Security officers monitor entrances, parking areas, and public spaces to prevent theft, vandalism, and other criminal activities.
• Safeguarding officers protect the hotel's valuable items, such as guests' belongings and expensive equipment.
• Collaborating with others Security officers work with hotel staff, such as receptionists, concierges, and management, to share information and report incidents. They also collaborate with external agencies, such as law enforcement and emergency services, to ensure the hotel's safety.
• Controlling access Security officers control entrances and exits to prevent unauthorized entry. They also check IDs when necessary and keep a record of visitors and vehicles.
• Responding to emergencies Security officers respond to fights, theft, or other security violations. They also know emergency procedures and implement evacuation plans.
• Maintaining a secure environment Security officers make guests feel secure within the hotel premises. They also monitor suspicious individuals and activities, and avert chaotic situations from happening or escalating.
