Their chances of getting admitted to a college or building a career are much lower than their high-income peers, condemning them to a life without voice or choice. iTeach was born to declare war on this status quo and create a level playing field for ALL children. We do this in Pune and Navi Mumbai by co-creating contextual school models with Municipal Corporations.We run 10 free and high-impact secondary schools and a college-to-career program for the most disadvantaged students. In 2024, with a staff of 250 members across 10 schools, we will serve 3000 students and 2000 alumni - giving students a fighting chance at college, career, and citizenship. Key Responsibilities:A teacher at iTeach Schools wears multiple hats to ensure an excellent education for their students. The three different parts of the role are:l - Teaching your subject (60% time) Use existing resources and design innovative Annual Plans, Unit Plans and Lesson Plans Teach one or two subjects of your expertise to your class (about 30 students in each class) Conduct regular tests and assessments to monitor learning and give feedback to students Build a positive and strong school culture, with a focus on learning and joy Collaborate with parents of the students through regular meetings to create a positive learning environmentll - Mentoring students (20% time) Mentor nearly 15-20 students throughout the year Develop ways to ensure that these students have strong study habits, high attendance and the drive to excel - share these plans with all teachers across the ecosystem Mentor students to identify a best-fit career after Grade Xlll - Leading projects in school (20% time) Work with the School Principal and Vice Principal to lead multiple projects essential to student learning (based on your talents), such as Annual Day, Sports Day, Hobby Clubs, etc Use these opportunities to strengthen your leadership skills and mentor new teachersEducation & Experience: Required: Bachelors Degree with strong academic and holistic performance Preferred: B Ed Degree Preferred: Teaching experience in a secondary grade for 1-2 yearsCompensation and Benefits: We take pride in offering competitive compensation and benefits commensurate with the candidate's education and work experience.
