Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Scientific Communicator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in science combined with exceptional communication skills. This role is crucial for translating complex scientific information into clear, engaging content for a variety of audiences, including the general public, media, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Content Development: Create and edit a range of scientific communication materials including articles, press releases, reports, blogs, social media content, and multimedia presentations.
• Science Translation: Simplify complex scientific concepts and research findings for non-specialist audiences while maintaining accuracy and integrity.
• Media Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with media professionals, prepare media kits, and respond to media inquiries.
• Public Engagement: Organize and participate in public outreach activities such as lectures, workshops, webinars, and science fairs.
• Collaboration: Work closely with scientists, researchers, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure accurate representation of scientific work.
• Strategy Development: Assist in developing and implementing communication strategies to enhance the visibility and impact of scientific research and initiatives.
• Monitoring and Evaluation: Track the effectiveness of communication efforts and adjust strategies as needed to improve engagement and outreach.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Science Communication, Public Relations, or a related field. Advanced degree in a scientific discipline is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience in science communication, journalism, or a related field. Experience with multimedia content creation is preferred.
