Job Summary:

St. Thomas Public School in Kalmeshwar is seeking a responsible and reliable School Bus Driver to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school, as well as to various school-related activities. The ideal candidate will have excellent driving skills, a clean driving record, and a genuine interest in the well-being of children.

Key Responsibilities:

- Safely operate a school bus on assigned routes and schedules.

- Transport students to and from school, following all traffic laws and regulations.

- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure its safety and proper functioning.

- Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior.

- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus safely.

- Ensure that all students are seated and adhere to safety protocols during transit.

- Manage student behavior on the bus and report any incidents to school authorities.

- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.

- Follow all school policies and procedures related to transportation.

- Report any mechanical issues or concerns to the transportation supervisor promptly.

- Attend training sessions and meetings as required.

Qualifications:

- Valid and current Driver's License.

- Proven experience as a school bus driver or in a similar role.

- Clean driving record with no serious traffic violations.

- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices.

- Ability to manage time effectively and adhere to schedules.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.

- A genuine concern for the safety and well-being of children.

- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.

- Ability to assist students in emergencies, including evacuations.

- Ability to perform routine maintenance and safety checks on the bus.

Working Conditions:

- Work is performed primarily in a school bus environment.

- Exposure to varying weather conditions.

- Early morning and afternoon work hours, with possible evenings for school events or trips.
