JOB DESCRIPTION Job Role: Team Member - Supply Chain Operations SECTION I: BASIC INFORMATION ABOUT THE JOB ROLE Job Role Variant: Team Member - Supply Chain Operations Manager Job Position: Team Lead - Supply Chain Operations Value Stream: Sales & Customer Operations Job Family: Supply Chain Management Sub-Job Family: Logistics Operations SECTION II: PURPOSE OF THE ROLE To assist in carrying out efficient supply chain operations through optimal facilitation of raw material transportation, reporting of performance metrics and implementing safety protocols and guidelines to ensure safe operations in line with overall RIL goals and objectives SECTION III: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE Responsibilities Policies, Processes and Procedures - Conduct day to day activities & follow all relevant policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner - Keep self abreast with leading practices & trends and contribute to the identification of continuous improvement of systems, processes and procedures Transportation and Logistics - Provide support in facilitating and coordinating transport operations including scheduling shipments, coordinating the loading and unloading of goods, and tracking the progress of shipments as they move through different stages of the transportation process - Manage regular and effective communication with concerned stakeholders such as production, procurement and customer service teams for informed decision making, order prioritization and effective issue resolution - Assist in tracking and monitoring of all shipments closely to ensure timely delivery and identify delays, investigate causes for delays and implement necessary measures for improvement - Prepare and maintain necessary documentation such as bills of lading, shipping labels, transportation records etc. - Generate routine reports like order completion report, shipment tracking report and other relevant metrics necessary for tracking & documentation purposes - Provide input in streamlining operational workflows, identify bottlenecks and address any transportation-related discrepancies that arise - Support in identification of bottlenecks in the transportation process and implement mitigation plans for permanent resolution - Assist the identification and assessment of any deviations or malpractices and gather relevant samples to be further investigated - Support the deployment of vehicles to the right locations at right time based on the demand and urgency and track the movement of vehicles in real time through VTS tracking - Stay abreast with the industry best practices to pilot and implement new technologies to improve efficiency, accuracy and decision making Safety Risk Management - Implement appropriate handling procedures to minimize the risk of damage or loss during transit and adhere to safety protocols to prevent accidents or incidents and ensure a safe working environment - Conduct regular safety inspections to identify potential risks and support in implementation of recommended corrective actions - Assist in executing training schedules for drivers for handling of heavy cargos, enforce driving regulations and promote safe driving practices to mitigate all foreseen risks SECTION IV: SUCCESS METRICS (TOP 3-5 KPI\'s) - On time Delivery - Customer Satisfaction Score - # of Transportation Safety Incidents SECTION V: OPERATING NETWORK Internal: Planning Team, Marketing Team, Terminal Team External: Transport Vendors, Shipping Lines, Outsourced Warehouse Agencies SECTION VI: KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES Education Qualifications - 0-3 years of experience in Supply Chain Management SECTION VII: CAREER MOVEMENTS Possible Next Role Movement: Team Lead - Supply Chain Operations
