Payroll Processing:Configure and manage the end-to-end payroll process for Indian employees in the SAP HCM system.
Ensure accurate payroll calculations, including but not limited to basic pay, allowances, deductions, bonuses, overtime, tax calculations, and provident fund (PF).
Process and validate monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll for employees in line with statutory regulations.
Support timely and accurate salary payments, including tax deductions at source (TDS), bonuses, and arrears.
Taxation and Compliance:Handle the Income Tax calculation and reporting as per Indian taxation laws (TDS), ensuring compliance with regulations such as the Income Tax Act and other statutory deductions.
Stay updated with Indian payroll-related statutory changes (such as changes in income tax, provident fund, and other labor laws) and implement them in SAP.
Prepare and file statutory reports such as Form 16, Form 24Q, Provident Fund (PF) returns, ESI (Employee State Insurance), Professional Tax (PT), and other compliance documentation.
Configuration & Customization:Configure the SAP HCM module to meet the requirements for Indian payroll, including payroll schema, PCRs (Personnel Calculation Rules), wage types, infotypes, and integration with financial systems (FI).
Work closely with business stakeholders to understand payroll requirements and configure the SAP payroll system accordingly.
Reporting & Analysis:Generate standard and ad-hoc payroll-related reports (e.g., payroll registers, tax reports, and payment reconciliation) and ensure data accuracy and timely delivery.
Analyze payroll data to ensure accuracy, and identify discrepancies or issues that need resolution.
Create customized reports in SAP for management review and decision-making.
Employee Query Resolution:Address employee queries related to payroll, tax, deductions, and benefits.
Provide guidance on matters such as taxation, statutory benefits, and payroll-related issues.
System Support & Troubleshooting:Provide day-to-day support for payroll processing issues and resolve any system issues, errors, or discrepancies that may arise.
Work with SAP support teams to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth payroll runs.
Conduct periodic system audits to ensure data integrity.
End-user Training & Documentation:Train HR personnel, managers, and other stakeholders on payroll-related processes and SAP system usage.
Create and maintain user manuals, documentation, and process flows related to payroll.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications in SAP HCM or Payroll are an advantage.
Experience: Minimum [X] years of hands-on experience in SAP HCM, with at least [X] years specifically focused on Indian payroll.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in SAP HCM (Human Capital Management) module, particularly in the payroll (PY) and personnel administration (PA) submodules.
Knowledge of Indian payroll and statutory compliance such as Income Tax (TDS), Provident Fund (PF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), Gratuity, and Professional Tax (PT).
Experience with payroll processing and related configurations in SAP (schemas, wage types, and PCRs).
Knowledge of SAP reporting tools, including SAP Query and ABAP/Smartforms (if applicable).
Familiarity with Data Migration tools for payroll.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication skills to liaise with employees, managers, and external authorities.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
