Sales Support Specialist

You will be working as a Sales Support Specialist and will be part of Process Automation Business Area for Energy Industries Division based in Bangalore, India. In this role, you will be reporting to Sales Support Manager - Configuration & Quotation. You will be creating and completing bids or estimations or quotations based on customer specification or customer requirements, budget for Process Automation, Process Safety, Substation automation SCADA to achieve both market competitiveness and high margin for the company. Maintaining and improving the balance between all ABB units and customers that are present in the area of responsibility.

Your responsibilities

• Formulating competitive bids, estimates, quotations for Process Automation, safety systems, substation automation in domains like specialty chemicals or pharma, oil & gas, refineries, petrochemicals, power & water taking into account best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations for each individual situation
• Ensuring tenders are well documented in a timely manner and with appropriate level of detail, including full and accurate costs
• Managing the preparation of RFI (Request for Information), RFQ (Request for quote) all technical (e.g. defining the most suitable technology and product types, financial (e.g. total price sheet, cash flow analysis) and if necessary project management (e.g. quantifies hours of engineering and commissioning) aspects of the bid, estimate, quotation, indicating prices and trading conditions. Reviewing or updating opportunities in salesforce database
• Ensuring that inputs for editing activities are provided on time and according to established quality procedures. Coordinating with other functions for successful project execution. Managing external services to support bid, estimation preparation such as translations and governmental approvals. Specific focus to be applied to the requirements for Government in relation to how the suppliers will support and meet the specifications
• Collecting and archiving documentation regarding the offer or order and records assumptions and decisions taken during the development process. Regularly reports the status of the bids, estimates, quotations using defined tools and collects and analyses the reasons for tenders being lost and won
• Collecting and collating all information needed to prepare the proposal, including both technical and cost elements. Establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to understand customer needs. Ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the sales process. Providing any necessary technical support to Sales Managers during technical meetings with customers
• Identifying potential vendors for equipment and materials required in the project and technically evaluates supplier offers to check match with specifications. Collaborating with supply chain management to coordinate requests to subcontractors

Your background

• Degree in bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics & Communication Engineering
• Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in preparing bids, estimations in process automation, process safety, substation automation and PLC\xe2\x80\x99s
• Ability to understand customer specifications requirements applicable IEC or ISA standards
• Knowledge on automation market, products and solutions
• Experience in reading and responding to Indian Government RFQs
• Process knowledge of chemical industry, pharma industry, Oil & Gas industry, power plants awareness of global standards including FDA/EU Annex guidelines latest industry trends etc
• A collaborative, solution-focused approach, and strong written and spoken communication skills
