ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities of a Sales Representative, also known as a Sales Executive or Salesperson, revolve around generating sales and building relationships with customers. Here are some common responsibilities of a Sales Representative:

1. Prospecting and Lead Generation: Identify and prospect potential customers through various methods such as cold calling, networking, referrals, and attending industry events. Generate leads and qualify prospects to determine their potential as customers.

2. Sales Presentations and Demonstrations: Conduct sales presentations and product demonstrations to showcase the features and benefits of the products or services offered. Customize presentations to align with the needs and preferences of each customer.

3. Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by understanding their needs, preferences, and challenges. Regularly communicate with customers to provide updates, address concerns, and offer appropriate solutions.

4. Sales Negotiation and Closing: Engage in negotiation with distributors / retailers to arrive at mutually beneficial terms and conditions. Handle objections and overcome barriers to close sales successfully. Prepare and present sales proposals and contracts.

5. Achieving Sales Targets: Set and work towards achieving sales targets and objectives within a defined timeframe. Develop and implement effective sales strategies and action plans to maximize sales opportunities.

6. Market Research and Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions. Conduct market research to identify customer needs, preferences, and emerging opportunities. Provide feedback to the company regarding product improvements or market demands.

7. Sales Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, customer interactions, and sales-related information using SAS software or other tools. Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and pipelines to provide visibility to the sales performance.

8. Customer Service and Support: Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Collaborate with customer support teams to handle post-sales service and support as required.

9. Product Knowledge and Training: Develop a deep understanding of the products or services being sold, including their features, benefits, and competitive advantages. Stay updated with product knowledge and participate in ongoing training programs.

10. Collaboration with Internal Teams: Coordinate with internal teams such as marketing, product management, and customer support to align sales efforts with overall company objectives. Share customer feedback and market insights with relevant teams.

11. Territory Management: Effectively manage assigned territories or accounts by prioritizing sales activities, allocating resources efficiently, and maintaining a consistent sales pipeline. Continuously identify new leads and opportunities within the territory.

12. Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of industry trends, sales techniques, and product knowledge through self-learning, attending workshops or conferences, and participating in sales training programs.
