You will be working as Sales Manager and will be part of Process Automation Business Area for Energy Industries Division based in Mumbai, India. In this role you will be reporting to Local Division Sales Manager. You will be primarily responsible for planning and ensuring execution of Energy Division Sales Strategy for Maharashtra Region to achieve both qualitative and quantitative targets for systems and services in a profitable way. Responsible for leading and developing and coaching the sales organization proactively, to exceed the sales targets through high performance in order to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

Your responsibilities

  • Creating, planning and implementing early engagement sales strategy and strategic sales and business development initiatives, in alignment with defined energy segments and also in accordance with the global sales strategy. Achieving sales targets in respect of both budgets and sales efficiency from Maharashtra region
  • Establishing sales targets and ensuring sales achievement through regular oversight and definition and implementation of improvement plans as needed
  • Identifying opportunities at existing and potential new customers within defined geographical area and determines plans for acquisition and allocates resources
  • Coordinating the flow of information for sales activities and transactions, including leads, billings, orders, contracts etc. and evaluating data to ensure achievement of goals. Monitoring and providing reports to the marketing and sales organization on market intelligence
  • Supporting the development of strong relationships with key customers. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key decision makers. Ensuring efficient marketing communications
  • Ensuring achievement of sales volume and product mix targets by setting appropriate price and margin for sales. Participating on negotiations of key contracts & managing ongoing costs
  • Monitoring client financial status and reports any changes regarding risk to relevant internal partner teams. Identifying and managing potential risks relating to contract agreements across customers/channels
  • Taking ownership of the sales processes and all relevant training and development plans, actions and programs
Your background
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical / Instrumentation engineering from a reputed university
  • Overall 14 + years of experience with at least 8 years in Process Automation, Process Safety & Advanced Solutions domain
  • Expertise and knowledge selling automation / safety in energy domain - power, water, oil & gas, chemicals, refining and life sciences
  • Identifying current and future requirements for positioning ABB for higher winning ration through early engagement on strategic accounts and large projects with boundary less collaboration
  • Knowledge of end users, consultants, EPCs and OEMs. Experience of enhancing business and customer connect
  • Focusing on payment terms and outstanding collections from identified customers / accounts
  • Should be willing to travel
