Job Description


Reports to Director of Sales & MarketingPrimary goal to achieve individual catering revenue goals by developing and implementing strategies for selling available space to groups and the local community, specifically the social and wedding market\xc2\xb7 Develops catering sales presentation and collateral materials\xc2\xb7 Identifies and prioritizes potential local business\xc2\xb7 Monitors sales productivity and provides the catering sales staff with ongoing education and coaching\xc2\xb7 Provides and distributes regular update reports\xc2\xb7 Actively sells and up-sells services to clients; develops customized presentations and negotiates terms of agreement\xc2\xb7 Manages inventory control standards in conjunction with the foods and beverage departmentParticipates in the development and implementation of business strategies for the catering and conference management operations that are aligned with RHGs overall mission, vision values and strategies\xc2\xb7 Develops and implements strategies for the department\xc2\xb7 Monitors status regularly and adjusts strategies as appropriate\xc2\xb7 Develops and forecasts the annual budget in conjunction with the Executive Committee\xc2\xb7 Develops and implements strategies for catering and conference management operations that support achievement of the hotels goals\xc2\xb7 Develops and maintains all policies, procedures and quality standards for the banquet department to ensure high quality, cost effective and customer focused operationsAchieves customer service goals for catered functions\xc2\xb7 Creates 100% Guest Satisfaction by developing and implementing integrated strategies for each function\xc2\xb7 Directs the operation of the banquet department\xc2\xb7 Recruits and retains qualified staff; schedules according to forecasted business\xc2\xb7 Ensures strong coordination and communications between departments as appropriate, prior to and during an event successfully meeting the expectations of the client and attendees\xc2\xb7 Suggests alternative services which will enhance the guests experience at the event\xc2\xb7 Ensures that hotel has the audio visual support necessary to support the guests needs by purchasing and/or renting equipment\xc2\xb7 Creates safe environment for guests, employees and community by maintaining hotel in accordance to safety standards and following all local laws and regulationsDevelops and implements strategies and practices which support employee engagement\xc2\xb7 Recruits and selects qualified candidates\xc2\xb7 Determines appropriate staffing levels for events and room/station assignments\xc2\xb7 Provides employees with the orientation and training needed to understand expectations and perform job responsibilities\xc2\xb7 Communicates performance expectations and provides employees with on-going feedback\xc2\xb7 Provides employees with coaching and counseling as needed to achieve performance objectives and reach their fullest potentialCreates 100% guest satisfaction by providing the Yes I Can! experience through performance that demonstrates the standards of genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations.
