Being a consultant/ advisor on erstwhileindirect tax / GST/ Customs/ FTP / SEZ (hereinafter referred as overallindirect taxes) matters to clients assigned and other Nexdigm practices acrossall locations . Leading client fronting for overall indirecttax engagements (including but not limited to Compliance, Representation,Advisory and Litigation). Also involve in o Scoping o Technical and quality reviews o On-time delivery o Client liaison . Risk management from overall indirect taxperspective on all Nexdigm engagements across all locations . Controlling and managing indirect tax practiceof branch locations, if need be, other than that of home location, (ifrequired) . Keeping track of and providing insights onvarious issues related to recent developments in Indirect taxes in India andglobally . Plan and execute various practice developmentinitiatives (incl. standardizing operating practices, and protocols forrecurring activities) . Expected to be involved in end-to-end reportingfor his/ her client/ region sales, budgets, billing and their growth . Involved in preparation of monthly/ quarterlysheets for leadership from overall practice perspective. . Expected to assume P&L responsibility forthe defined scope of work Clients\' accountexpansion and business development: 40% weightage Aligningwith Partners/ sales team to generate leads and take it till order book level. . Representing indirect tax team at practicelevel, wherever required, and identifying solutions to be provided to thecommon leads identified . Managing and maintaining relationship withclients, other BU\'s and internal stake holders . Advise and assist clients in forming indirecttax strategies to cover indirect tax exposure . Strive to provide new and innovative indirecttax solutions to clients . Identifying new opportunities for servingexisting clients . Targeting and obtaining work from potential clients . Development of the Practice and promotion ofthe Nexdigm brand name - articles in publications, regular update managementfor clients, speaker at seminars, etc. . Managing current and developing newrelationships and alliances covering but not limited to Trade bodies, Nexianetwork firms, Law Firms, Technology alliances and other similar organizations . Achieving assigned number KPIs about: o Lead generation o Sales closure combining IDT technical knowledgeand commercial skills. o Client mining and account expansion o Product campaigns about IDT productsincluding tax technology products . Reporting and maintaining the MIS from practiceand sales perspective and updating the leadership on the progress achieved. Leading people anddevelopment: 5-10% weightage . Building and managing a team includingrecruitment, appraisals, developing training material, providing training toteam members, and technically guiding the teams in completing their assigneddeliverables . Review of efficient and effective planning,selection and team management of all resources throughout the year includingtemporary resource redeployment within team/ with other departments, . Building of team morale and motivate people inthe team and firm, and retention of existing employees . Address issues at emotional / infrastructurallevel at work being faced by teams, take responsibility for team building andmotivation of teams . Identifying training needs of teams and assistin skill building where deficiencies identified, . Ensure on-boarding and process training happensfor new employees . Working Model: Work-from-office DESIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE: Chartered Accountant / Lawyer with 6 - 8 years\'experience in indirect tax out of which at least 80% should be from servingclients in West region: o Specialist knowledge of Goods and Services Tax,erstwhile indirect tax laws o Experience of Customs legislation, SEZ andForeign Trade Policy o Basic work experienced in Foreign TradeAgreements . Experience should be in compliance,representation, advisory and adequate litigation exposure . In-depth indirect taxation exposure in fewsectors like (Automotive, Pharmaceutical, Information Technology, FMCG, SME, BFSI, manufacturing, etc.) . The candidate should have or handled aportfolio of approximately 2 to 5 crores and should have strong presence in Mumbai. . Experience in advisory and compliance withrespect to Special Economic Zones (SEZ) . Experience in independently handling GSTimplementation projects for clients from planning phase to execution anddelivery . Experience in liaising with governmentofficials and building rapport with officials . Should have been in a client-facing role . Supervisory / leadership experience of at least4 years . Manager (or above) in a Big 4 or Partner /Principal in a mid-sized firm (of more than 4 partners) . Excellent written and spoken communicationskills including legal / technical drafting . Very good interpersonal skills .
