:As part of the Oracle Linux, Virtualization and Java sales team, direct and manage pre-sales and customer success technical resources throughout the sales cycle. Provide technical/functional leadership to the sales team in the development and implementation of customer applications and customer products. Participate in account planning and strategy development. May publish technical information of specific applications and/or technical articles. Work with management to define new products. Serves as the company liaison on specific technical projects with customers.Lead a specialized team which may have diverse functional elements. Frequently interact with supervisors and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management. Knowledge of software industry relating to all aspects of software development, deployment, systems administration, security and architectures. Demonstrated leadership skills. Strong presentation skills. Ability to travel as needed. BA/BS degree or equivalent.We are searching for a motivated and passionate individual who can lead a Solutions Consultant (SC) team and work closely together with the Sales organization, selling Oracle\xef\xbf\xbd\xef\xbf\xbds Linux, Virtualization and Java solutions to customers.Your Key Objectives Are:

Success is defined in part through the following:Partnership with SalesManage a partnership with your key stakeholders to help develop a strategic plan for the Products, Services and Technology the Java Business Organization supports. Help with Sales Rep development and training, support sales programs, understand evolving business needs and adapt. You will also provide coaching on deal opportunity reviews, discovery preparation, dry runs, demonstrations, and sales alignment execution. You will act as a sponsor or a lead for certain key deals and accounts. You will be expected to understand the status and plan for execution on top opportunities and step in to help where and when needed.Team ManagementCreate and sustain an environment where your team is inspired, informed, educated, enabled, recognized, and rewarded with the goal of ensuring you have a successful and motivated team. Typical activities include: Team meetings, regular one on one calls, best practice sharing, weekly timecard review and approval, overtime review and approval, expense report review and approval, and weekly time entry and data quality. Lead your team in continuous development to expand and refine skills as needed to match the demands of the business. Drive innovation and foster a spirit of business ownership.Business Improvement InitiativesYou will be expected to lead or participate in projects and initiatives across Solution Consulting to help solve problems and improve as a business. This includes such activities as managing the quality of preparation and delivery in our sales cycles as well as the skills development planning and progress of your SC team.Key Sales Execution TasksSupport business needs to ensure optimal revenue attainment. Align to sales leaders yourself and drive alignment and a spirit of business ownership among SCs.Demonstrate innovative approaches to pipeline development, sales cycles, sales program support, and sales rep enablement.Collaborate with sales management and sales account executives to plan territory and account strategies through participation in informal and formal account/territory reviews. Be informed of deal status. On key opportunities and engage where needed to help manage activities and ensure that SC investment and activities are well planned and executed.Balance the required pre-sales investment with the value of each opportunity by engaging the appropriate presales team for qualified sales opportunities, including the identification of a pres-ales lead. Personally engage as needed to support the business.Enforce consistent pre-sales and customer success processes, including opportunity management, dry runs and discovery sessions, to ensure superior demos, and presentations, resulting in top-notch execution. Ensure consistency and quality in SC preparation and delivery of sales cycle steps.Proactively manage your business using analytics on a regular basis.Key Team Development Tasks * Manage the continuous development for each team member and work with each to define and execute a tailored learning plan focused on broadening product, process and industry knowledge and sharpening soft skills. Foster an atmosphere of continuous learning, improvement, and innovation.
  • Provide feedback and coaching during preparation sessions, dry-runs, demos and presentations to help SCs hone their skills. Provide on-going formal oral and written feedback. Also, foster a culture of feedback among your team.
  • Drive and encourage your team members toward their group's revenue target and partnership in the success of every sales cycle.
  • Help develop the larger pre-sales organization through leadership of a solution- or industry-focused community of practice which provides enablement and a voice to solution engineering management.
  • Ensure achievement of SC goals and objectives.
  • Lead efforts to hire and maintain the best individuals possible for the team needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of relevant IT solution support e.g. pre-sales, architecture, delivery or professional services experience.
  • Responsibility for Linux based Systems design, administration, tuning and optimization, migration from other Linux distributions to Oracle Linux and integration in support of customer engagements.
  • Working closely with clients and OS (Linux) project managers and team to clearly define scope of work and provide accurate schedule estimates.
  • 6-8 or more years of Linux systems and Virtualization administration experience
  • Technical expertise in Linux Operating systems and related internals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an eye for the big picture and capable of delving into details when required.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent activities and have a flexible positive attitude.
  • Ability to work with customers in multiple time zones; may need to work a United States time zone one week and a European time zone the following week.
  • Experience with Linux Server Administration
  • Linux System Administrator Certification(s) including advanced features like clustering
  • Experience with Networking and Storage Administration
  • Experience with Scripting in Perl, PHP, BASH
  • Proficiency with the Java platform, from the programming language to the runtime environment
  • Strong, proven collaboration and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with complex sales engagements and strong sales acumen.
  • Experience leading regional/industry teams, appropriate knowledge of methodologies and technology.
  • Proven experience building diverse teams, highly inclusive leadership style, managing people, performance, and sales processes.
  • Proficiency in Oracle solutions, competitors, technology, and business models preferred.
  • Leadership, drive for results and can do attitude and a mindset towards continuous process improvement and innovation.
  • Experience and ability to manage a business using analytics.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate others.
