Job Title: Safety Officer

Location: Kolkata

Job Summary: We are seeking a diligent and experienced Safety Officer to join our team. The Safety Officer will be responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations and developing measures to assure personnel safety. The Safety Officer will correct unsafe acts or conditions through the regular line of authority, although they may exercise emergency authority to prevent or stop unsafe acts when immediate action is required.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
• Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures.
• Initiate and organize OSHA training of employees and executives.
• Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.
• Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker's compensation claims.
• Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention measures.
• Report and document all activities related to safety procedures.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Safety Officer or similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of legislation (e.g., OSHA/EPA) and procedures.
• Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
• Proficient in MS Office and other related software.
• Outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., CSP, ASP, OHST, CHST) is a plus.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, engineering, or related field.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?15,000.00 - ?20,000.00 per month
