Job Purpose:
The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees, contractors, and visitors at the factory. They will oversee the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of safety practices, ensuring compliance with local, state, and national safety regulations. The Safety Officer will actively participate in risk assessments, training, and emergency preparedness, striving to prevent accidents and reduce workplace hazards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Safety Planning and Implementation:
• Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Oversee the installation and maintenance of safety equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, emergency exits, safety signage).
• Ensure that all workers and visitors comply with safety protocols.
• Risk Assessment and Hazard Control:
• Conduct regular safety audits and hazard assessments of the factory premises, machinery, and working environments.
• Work with management and department heads to mitigate identified risks.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, preparing detailed reports with recommendations for preventing recurrence.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions for identified safety risks.
• Training and Awareness:
• Organize safety training and awareness programs for all employees, including new hires and temporary workers.
• Conduct emergency drills, including fire, evacuation, and first aid training.
• Promote a culture of safety by encouraging active employee participation in safety programs.
• Educate staff on the proper use of protective equipment and machinery.
• Compliance and Reporting:
• Ensure compliance with national safety regulations, environmental laws, and company policies.
• Prepare safety-related reports for internal and external audits.
• Maintain up-to-date records of safety inspections, training sessions, accident reports, and corrective actions.
• Monitor safety-related KPIs and report performance to management.
• Emergency Response and First Aid:
• Be the first responder in case of an emergency, providing first aid as needed and coordinating with medical professionals.
• Establish and maintain emergency evacuation plans, including routes and assembly points.
• Ensure that safety personnel are trained in emergency response and first aid techniques.
• Safety Equipment and PPE Management:
• Ensure that personal protective equipment (PPE) is available, maintained, and used properly by all employees.
• Monitor the usage of safety equipment and perform regular checks to ensure compliance.
• Order and maintain stock levels of safety gear, materials, and emergency response equipment.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Regularly review and update safety policies to ensure they reflect the latest regulations and industry best practices.
• Work closely with the management team to foster a proactive safety culture.
• Suggest improvements to workplace design and processes that enhance safety.
• Other Responsibilities:
• Act as the liaison for safety audits conducted by regulatory bodies or third-party auditors.
• Participate in continuous education and professional development to stay current with safety trends and regulations.
• Support the factory's sustainability and environmental initiatives by integrating safety protocols with environmental goals.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Education : A bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field. A safety certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA is highly preferred.
• Experience : Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in a safety role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the electronics or industrial sector.Must have Industrial safety Audit experience.
• Technical Skills : Familiarity with safety management software, risk assessment tools, and safety equipment.
• Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively educate and report to all levels of the organization.
• Attention to Detail : Ability to identify potential hazards, analyze risks, and recommend preventive measures.
• Problem Solving : Strong analytical and decision-making skills to handle accidents, emergencies, and safety issues.
Work Environment:
• The role involves working on the factory floor, which may include exposure to noise, heavy machinery, and other industrial environments. Proper safety protocols will be followed at all times.
• Occasionally requires evening or weekend work in the case of safety audits, emergency response, or urgent safety training sessions.

Pay: ?9,900.69 - ?40,171.79 per month
