The Safety Officer will be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment at our interior design project sites in Mumbai. The role involves close coordination with Site Engineers, Site Supervisors, and Project Managers to implement safety practices and protocols, reduce risks, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and Implement Safety Policies: Establish and enforce safety policies, procedures, and programs tailored to the project sites, in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.2. Site Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular on-site safety inspections and audits to identify unsafe conditions, hazards, or equipment-related issues. Work closely with Site Engineers and Supervisors to address and resolve issues.3. Accident Investigation: Investigate accidents and incidents at project sites, working with the site team to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.4. Safety Training: Develop and deliver site-specific safety training programs for Site Engineers, Supervisors, and workers. Ensure all personnel are trained in the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency procedures, and safe work practices.5. Guidance to Site Personnel: Provide guidance and support on safety-related issues to Site Engineers, Supervisors, and Project Managers. Assist them in ensuring that safety protocols are followed at every stage of the project.6. Risk Assessment: Conduct detailed risk assessments and hazard analyses on site activities. Ensure that risk mitigation strategies are implemented by site teams.7. Safety Documentation: Maintain records of safety inspections, accident investigations, and safety trainings specific to each site. Share reports and findings with Project Managers and site teams.8. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all site operations comply with relevant safety laws, regulations, and company policies. Collaborate with Project Managers to integrate safety measures into project planning and execution.Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Diploma in Industrial Safety or equivalent.
- Certification in First Aid and Fire Safety preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a safety role, preferably in construction or interior design.
- Familiarity with OSHA and local safety regulations.
- Strong knowledge of safety management systems and risk assessment techniques.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
