Safety Officer
Title: Safety Officer - 66 KV PSS & GSS Projects
Job Summary:
The Safety Officer for Solar Projects is responsible for ensuring the safety of all personnel and compliance with safety regulations and best practices during the construction, operation, and maintenance of solar energy projects. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, an understanding of relevant regulations, and the ability to promote a culture of safety within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safety Compliance:• Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, codes, and standards for solar projects.
• Stay up-to-date on industry-specific safety practices and emerging regulations.
2. Safety Plans and Procedures:• Develop and implement safety plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the unique needs of each solar project.
• Conduct regular reviews and updates of safety protocols to address evolving project requirements.
3. Site Inspections and Audits:• Perform regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and safety violations.
• Conduct safety audits to assess compliance with safety plans and recommend corrective actions.
4. Training and Education:• Provide safety training for all project personnel, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of safety protocols.
• Facilitate safety awareness programs and initiatives to promote a culture of safety within the organization.
5. Incident Investigation:• Lead and oversee investigations of safety incidents and accidents to determine root causes.
• Develop and implement corrective actions to prevent similar incidents in the future.
6. Safety Equipment and Gear:• Ensure that all necessary safety equipment and personal protective gear are readily available and used by personnel.
• Conduct regular inspections of safety equipment to ensure it meets quality and safety standards.
7. Emergency Response:• Develop and maintain emergency response plans to address potential emergency situations, including fires, electrical hazards, and injuries.
• Coordinate emergency drills and training exercises.
8. Documentation and Reporting:• Maintain detailed records of safety incidents, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit safety reports to management and relevant regulatory agencies as required.
9. Safety Communication:• Act as a point of contact for safety-related concerns and inquiries from project personnel and stakeholders.
• Promote a proactive approach to safety by encouraging reporting of potential hazards or safety issues.
Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, or a related field.
• Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, NEBOSH, or equivalent) is preferred.
• Proven experience in safety management, Experience in the construction or renewable energy industry.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices specific in EPC work for 66 KV EHV lines, PSS & GSS work
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using safety management software and tools.
• First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
