Job Summary:

The Rivet Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining riveting machinery to join metal components securely and efficiently. This role involves setting up equipment, performing quality checks, and ensuring the precision and durability of riveted assemblies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with riveting tools and equipment, a strong attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Machine Operation:
• Set up and operate riveting machines, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and manual riveters, to join metal components.
• Adjust machine settings such as pressure and speed to meet specific job requirements and material specifications.
• Rivet Installation:
• Insert rivets into pre-drilled holes or align rivet guns according to blueprints or technical specifications.
• Monitor the riveting process to ensure proper alignment and secure fastening of rivets.
• Quality Control:
• Inspect riveted assemblies for proper rivet placement, integrity, and adherence to quality standards.
• Perform measurements and tests to verify that rivet connections meet dimensional and strength requirements.
• Report any defects or issues to the supervisor and make adjustments or repairs as necessary.
• Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of riveting machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions or issues that arise during operation.
• Replace worn or damaged parts as needed and report major maintenance needs to the supervisor.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Wear and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations related to safety and quality.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of production output, machine settings, and any incidents or issues encountered.
• Prepare and submit reports on production performance, including any deviations from specifications or quality standards.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with other operators, engineers, and production staff to ensure smooth operations and achieve production goals.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvements and safety initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in manufacturing or mechanical trades is a plus.
• Experience:
• Previous experience as a Rivet Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing or construction environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with various riveting tools and equipment is required.
• Skills:
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of riveting processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality control skills.
• Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
