This is a hands-on role where your feel for the interaction between a system and its environment will be invaluable to every one of your clients.There are two halves to this role: First, contributing to current projects where you analyze problems and tech issues, offer solutions, and test, modify, automate, and integrate systems. And second, long-range strategic planning of IT infrastructure and operational execution. This role isnt specific to any one platform, so youll need a good feel for all of them. And because of this, youll experience variety and growth at Kyndryl that you wont find anywhere else.Youll be involved early to offer solutions, help decide whether something can be done, and identify the technical and timeline risks up front. This means dealing with both client expectations and internal challenges - in other words, there are plenty of opportunities to make a difference, and a lot of people will witness your contributions. And finally, youre open and borderless naturally inclusive in how you work with others.Key Responsibilities:Should have 7-10 years of experienceManage infrastructure, perform system patching, and troubleshoot issues for RHEL and OpenShift systems.Investigate and respond to technical queries and errors remotely, providing solutions.Perform problem determination (PD) based on logs, ensuring regular status updates every two hours during incidents.Create and test Ansible Playbooks for building RHEL servers based on provided documentation.Lead OS and middleware patching activities for Linux and OpenShift environments.Review and assess patch requirements, analyzing the impact on infrastructure and applications.Develop detailed work plans and procedures, ensuring successful execution of changes.OpenShift & Ansible Specific Responsibilities:Experience in creating OpenShift on-premise environments without internet connectivity.Proficient in reading, creating, and testing Ansible Playbooks to automate RHEL server builds.Ensure that OpenShift environments are secure, scalable, and operationally efficient.Evaluate logs and error messages during Linux startup, referencing RedHat documentation to assess whether messages indicate actual errors.Work Environment:Collaborate closely with internal and external teams to ensure the smooth implementation of changes.Secure on-site work environment with access to required systems and tools for completing tasks.Mandatory Skills:Strong hands-on experience in RHEL and OpenShift systems administration, patching, and troubleshooting.Experience with OpenShift on-premise installations, specifically without internet access.Proficiency in Ansible Playbooks for automating server builds.Strong understanding of RHEL, including log analysis and error handling based on RedHat documentation.Preferred Skills:Knowledge of WebSphere Application Server (WAS) and DB2.Preferred Qualifications:Experience managing Linux and OpenShift systems in a similar role.Previous experience working in a high-security environment.Being YouDiversity is a whole lot more than what we look like or where we come from, its how we think and who we are.
