We're excited about building out our finance and accounting department and are seeking a versatile, adaptable and collaborative Accounting Supervisor to join our highly skilled team. You will utilize your accounting knowledge and experience to ensure best practices and standards are met on a regular basis as Porch builds its internal processes. This role will support a variety of accounting and analytical work, and you will gain valuable experience growing a young company. What You Will Do As A Revenue Analyst• Work independently, performing professional accounting activities related to general accounting, revenue recognition, operational accounting, etc.
• Control, monitor, and review accounts to ensure accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with all pertinent procedures and regulations; review financial reports and statements; apply audit techniques and practices to ensure the integrity and accuracy of recorded financial information.
• Demonstrate proficiency in general ledger system and other reporting tools, and a solid understanding of accounting processes and controls. Independently run trial balances or account details to aid in research or refining processes.
• Work proactively and review the work performed by staff including but not limited to invoices, vendor detail, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations as assigned.
• Review and analyze financial data and assist with preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports.
• Support management with ad hoc requests.
• Partner with managers and internal teams to maintain processes and controls related to assigned areas of work.
• Participate in the annual, quarterly, and monthly process with SOX and both external and internal audit teams.
• Ensure compliance with all internal policies, relevant regulations, and accounting principles.
• Work on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles.
• Work independently through problems that are ambiguous in nature.
• Exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
What You Will Bring As A Revenue Analyst• + Bachelor's degree in accounting, Minimum of 5 years' work experience
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles Demonstrated wide-ranging experience in job responsibilities with multiple examples of achieving results and showing significant progress in changing environments.
• Ability to act independently and determine new methods and procedures that would yield productivity improvements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities - ability to analyze complex information and reach clear, concise conclusions.
• Strong communication skills - effective at soliciting information and cooperation at all levels of the organization.
• Strong organizational skills coupled with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
• Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of completeness and accuracy.
• A collaborative, customer-centric approach with the ability to work with business units, accounting, and finance functions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
• Ability to work in a dynamic, virtual environment requiring self-motivation and adaptability.
• Prior NetSuite and FloQast experience a plus.
• Proven experience working with US based business teams
• Excellent written and communication skills in English
• Ability to work within core US business hours / time zone expectations - Eastern Standard Time (EST)
• Workspace: A quiet space to work, an internet connection of at least 30 Mbps download | 10 Mbps upload
