Job Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Restaurant Captain to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to ensure a seamless dining experience for our guests. The Restaurant Captain will oversee the dining room operations, coordinate with the kitchen staff, and lead the front-of-house team to provide exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of the dining room staff to ensure efficient and smooth service.
• Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables, ensuring they have menus and are comfortable.
• Take and confirm reservations, manage table assignments, and optimize seating arrangements to maximize guest satisfaction and restaurant efficiency.
• Present menus, answer questions about menu items, make recommendations, and take food and beverage orders accurately.
• Oversee the timely delivery of food and beverages to guests, ensuring that orders are correct and meet quality standards.
• Monitor and respond to guest needs and concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Train, mentor, and motivate front-of-house staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication and efficient service during busy periods.
• Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a professional and courteous manner.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized dining area.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including cash handling and balancing the register.
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on restaurant policies, menu changes, and industry trends.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience as a Restaurant Captain, Head Waiter, or in a similar supervisory role in the hospitality industry.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Exceptional customer service skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of food and beverage service standards and best practices.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Education in hospitality management or a related field is a plus.
