Job Summary:
The Captain plays a key role in ensuring exceptional dining experiences by managing table service operations, supervising staff, and maintaining high service standards. The Captain oversees team performance, supports guest relations, and ensures smooth coordination between the kitchen and service staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Guest Service:
• Greet guests warmly and ensure they are seated comfortably.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and ensure timely delivery.
• Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Ensure a positive guest experience by anticipating their needs and exceeding expectations.
• Team Supervision:
• Allocate duties to service staff and monitor their performance during shifts.
• Provide on-the-job training and guidance to team members to maintain service standards.
• Ensure team members are well-groomed and adhere to uniform and hygiene standards.
• Operational Excellence:
• Oversee table settings, cleanliness, and readiness before and during service.
• Coordinate with the kitchen to ensure orders are prepared accurately and delivered promptly.
• Manage reservations and seating arrangements to optimize capacity and minimize wait times.
• Sales & Promotions:
• Upsell menu items, beverages, and promotions to enhance guest satisfaction and revenue.
• Provide menu recommendations and information on specials or dietary options.
• Compliance & Reporting:
• Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and company policies.
• Prepare shift reports and update management on guest feedback, staff performance, and operational issues.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
• Educational Qualification: [Diploma/Degree in Hospitality Management or equivalent preferred]
• Experience: Minimum [1-3] years of experience in food and beverage service, with a proven track record in a supervisory role.
• Skills:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Leadership abilities to motivate and manage a team.
• Knowledge of food and beverage operations and service etiquette.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
