Job Summary: The Restaurant Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of our restaurant operations, including managing accounts, preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent organizational skills, and experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry. Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
Oversee daily financial transactions and ensure all financial operations are in compliance with company policies and regulations.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor budget performance and report on variances.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Generate and analyze financial reports to provide insights and recommendations to management.
Inventory and Cost Control:
Monitor and analyze inventory costs and wastage.
Implement cost control measures to optimize financial performance.
Tax Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations.
Prepare and file tax returns and manage tax audits as necessary.
Internal Controls:
Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
Conduct periodic audits and reviews to ensure financial integrity.
Vendor and Supplier Management:
Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers, including negotiating contracts and payment terms.
Payroll Management:
Oversee payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate payment to employees.
Manage employee benefits and deductions.
Financial Analysis:
Perform financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
Provide insights into financial trends and identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA certification preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
Proficiency in accounting software TALLY PRIME and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong understanding of financial regulations and accounting principles.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
