1. The Officer should reside in hospital premises wherever designated quarters are provided. He /She will look after the problems arising with regard to functioning of the hospital. 2. The Resident Medical Officer has to supervise the whole hospital in maintaining it neat and clean. 3. The Officer is completely in-charge of Group D employees of the hospital that is their attendance, postings to the departments and sanctioning of Casual Leave and recommendation of EL/CML or Leave on medical grounds. 4. The officer has to be supervise Nurses, Group D employees in their work. 5. The Officer has to supervise the duties of Junior Doctors and Laboratory Technicians. 6. The Officer has to supervise the Hospital Kitchen and supply of good hygienic diet to the ward patients. 7. The Officer is in-charge of safe handling of Hospital Biomedical Waste that is Segregation, Collection, treatment, storage, transportation and incineration of biomedical waste. 8. The Officer is completely in charge of Central Medical Stores of the Hospital. He has to supervise the duties of Pharmacists in dispensing drugs and IV fluids and other Hospital necessary items to the different departments and wards. 9. He/She will cause to prepare the half-yearly lists of time barred (expired date)in the CMS and suggest disposal to the Medical Superintendent if the value does not exceed Rs.5,000/- per annum in excess of it to the Director through Medical Superintendent promptly. 10. He/She will sign and issue attendance and discharge certificates when required by the patients. 11. He/She will be in-charge of the Ambulance Van of the Hospital and for the regulation of its movements. 12. He/She will function under the supervisory care of the Medical Superintendent so far as patient care is concerned. 13. The Officer has to procure Linen and Bedding to the different departments and wards. He is also responsible for providing uniform to the entire Group D employees and other staff of the hospital wherever necessary. 14. The officer is authorized to issue Medical Certificates to the hospital patients and also authorized to sign their reimbursement claims. 15. The officer has to supervise that the patients who visit the hospital in seeking treatment both as out-patient and in-patient get the treatment smoothly without any hurdles. 16. The officer will attend to such other duties as may be entrusted to him by the Medical Superintendent or the Director from time to time. 17. The officer will be on call 24 hours a day and 365 days in a year and always has to work for the benefit of cancer patients. 18. He/She will scrutinize and sign the indents, received from Departments before stocks are issued from the stores. 19. He/She will see that the Drugs, instruments, Hospital Necessaries, Registers, Glasswares required by the Institute are well planned and get them to stock well in advance on the recommendations of the Drugs Committee. 20. He/She will cause to prepare the half yearly lists of time barred drugs in the Store and suggest disposal to the Medical Superintendent if the value does not exceed Rs.5,000/- per annum and in excess of it to the Director through Medical Superintendent, promptly.
