About IRRIThe International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) is dedicated to reducing poverty and hunger through rice science; improving the health and welfare of rice farmers and consumers; and protecting the rice-growing environment for future generations. Working with in-country partners, IRRI develops advanced rice varieties that yield more grain and better withstand pests and disease as well as flooding, drought, and other harmful effects of climate change.This position is based at Bhubaneswar, Odisha and must only be filled by the permanent residents of India.Job PurposeIRRI is set to implement a new project \xe2\x80\x9cPromotion, scaling and market positioning of specialty rice in Odisha\xe2\x80\x9d. Under this project, ecological suitability and market scalability of different biofortified and low GI rice varieties will be assessed. Besides on-farm testing of new germplasms in this segment, large-scale demonstration of best-fit varieties will also be undertaken. The project will be implemented in four target districts\xe2\x80\x94 Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Ganjam, and Bolangir. The planned work streams are:
