• We are seeking a candidate with hands on experience in synthesizing and developing polymers, elastomers and polymeric composites for target applications. More specifically we are interested in high performance polymers & elastomers such as PTFE, PVDF, PEEK, PPS, PPSU, FKM, FFKM, etc.
• Testing and characterization of polymers, elastomers, & composites, and
• Designing and carrying out fit-for-purpose testing as per the target product application
• Should have hands on experience and willingness to physically work in the lab to research and take ownership of projects to deliver the possible solution/s.
• Should show readiness to collaborate with knowledge partners (Universities, Research labs, etc), Vendors, Subject Matter experts.
• Shall consult with internal stakeholders to determine the scope of the research projects.
• Shall collaborate with external partners, SMEs, and Internal engineering team members to identify possible and potential solutions.
• Shall identify the required infrastructure for a given project & make it available (internal or external based on economically viability and usability)
• Shall own up the project and deliverables.
• Shall physically work in the lab to develop the potential solution/s as needed.
• Shall plan and perform the required testing, collect the test results, analysis & interpret the test results.
• Shall plan future course of action to make the project successful.
• Shall optimize the final solution - technically feasible, economically viable, scalable for manufacturing, user friendly for a given application / product.
• Shall document all the process & update the leader.
• Shall have up to date knowledge on the ongoing research in the given area at peer industries, academia, competitor\'s IP, product offerings etc.

Skills Required:
Polymer Science & Engineering: Capabilities and Skills.Must have

• Knowledge of applications and characteristics of various commodity, engineering and high performance polymers and elastomers, and their compounds/composites.
• Knowledge of polymer synthesis methods
• Understanding of polymer structure-property relationships
• Hands on experience and deep understanding of polymer testing techniques such as Tensile Strength, Compression, Flexural Strength, Heat Deflection Testing, Impact Strength, Hardness Testing, Melt Flow Index, Chemical Resistance Testing, Wear Testing, etc.
• In-depth understanding and hands-on experience of polymer characterization techniques such as FTIR, DSC, TGA, DMA,SEM-EDX, GPC, XRD, etc.
• Understanding/Experience of various polymer processing techniques such as compression molding, injection molding, extrusion, etc.
