Then help us create lasting, positive impact!We are looking for a Research group head of \xe2\x80\x9cProduct Lifecycle Optimization - PLO\xe2\x80\x9dTo strengthen our research activities in Simulation and Digital Twin, we are seeking a dynamic professional to lead the research group \xe2\x80\x9cProduct Lifecycle Optimization \xe2\x80\x93 PLO\xe2\x80\x9d addressing the applications of \xe2\x80\x9cGenerative AI & Engineering\xe2\x80\x9d, \xe2\x80\x9cOptimization & Uncertainty Quantification\xe2\x80\x9d and Sustainability to address key technical and business challenges. The group develops various technologies for designing the state-of art technological solutions, from innovations in conceptual product architectures & optimization to digitalizing & harnessing legacy know-how to developing novel technologies for enabling sustainable solutions for Simulations & Digital Twins. For this purpose, a large set of cutting-edge competencies are leveraged and developed. Our research group in Bangalore is set up as a renowned center of competence for simulation and product design within Siemens. The team is composed of engineers and scientists who are already reputed in these domains of competencies. The team strongly collaborates with other groups in the Technology Field \xe2\x80\x9cSimulation and Digital Twin\xe2\x80\x9d located in Germany, US and China as well as with other Technology Fields and Siemens business units all over the world.You\xe2\x80\x99ll break new ground by:\xc2\xb7 Budget responsibility of a
70 million Rupee budget for the local research group\xc2\xb7 Manage, coach and develop midterm up to 10-15 direct reports including temporary staff (contractors, interns).\xc2\xb7 Define and manage execution of the Research Group\xe2\x80\x99s business strategy including target definitions, growth areas and business plans.\xc2\xb7 Contribute to the Technology Field\xc2\xb4s strategy and roadmap and align globally to ensure implementation and execution.\xc2\xb7 Build Siemens-internal network to acquire projects to achieve the revenue targets; maintain relationships to the business units within Siemens.\xc2\xb7 Develop and maintain relationships with key universities and institutes to expand technology portfolio and jointly pursue public funding opportunities.\xc2\xb7 Closely interact with Principals, R&D heads and Technology Field heads.\xc2\xb7 Assist developing brand recognition externally by networking with industry experts, attending conferences and partnering with universities.\xc2\xb7 Collaborate with T Research Groups to build larger products and integrate into comprehensive solutions\xc2\xb7 Participate and lead projects with Siemens businesses, including research & development as well as technical consulting\xc2\xb7 Collaborate with experts and peers to secure government grants in relevant domains.You\xe2\x80\x99re excited to build on your existing expertise, including:\xc2\xb7 Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Numerical simulation, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Computational Engineering, or related fields required. PhD preferred\xc2\xb7 8+ years of experience as researcher and engineer in simulation\xc2\xb7 3+ years of supervisory experience or program/project management engagement leading teams in an R&D environment required\xc2\xb7 Up-to-date technical knowledge in multiple areas of Computer-aided Design, System Modelling, Simulation, Design Optimization, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Statistics and Digital Twins.\xc2\xb7 Established networks within Indian academia/research institutions required.\xc2\xb7 Highly motivated and driven business professional with a can-do attitude\xc2\xb7 Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal & written) skills in English required. Candidate must be capable of presenting complex technical topics in a clear and structured way, ability to moderate discussions, meetings, and projects.\xc2\xb7 Flexibility and adaptability to work in a growing, dynamic, interdisciplinary team of experts with a strong customer service orientation required\xc2\xb7 Willingness to travel 25% (domestic/international) requiredCreate a better #TomorrowWithUs!
