About the PositionAs a Research Associate within our Policy Data Team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining an extensive database of information related to U.S. state legislative and regulatory data. Becoming a subject matter expert in your domain, you will collaborate effectively within a team environment to ensure the delivery of comprehensive and accurate content across various products.   • Accurately and expeditiously collect, process, and upload data and documents, adhering to the team\'s style standards.
  • Consistently meet stringent deadlines while upholding quality standards.
  • Manage workflow across multiple projects as assigned by senior members of the team.
  • Familiarize yourself with internal operational tools, procedures, and troubleshooting (ie. Jira, DMS, FN Data Status tool).
  • Build an in-depth understanding of legislative and regulatory procedures for US State-level datasets
  • Document work progress using Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Communicate challenges to senior team members and the team Manager.
  • Adapt work priorities based on evolving deadlines and coverage requirements.
  • Collaborate with the team and manage to foster professional growth.
  • Proactively utilize team documentation and seek assistance when needed.
  • Contribute insights regarding priorities, workflow optimization, and areas requiring additional attention.
  • Conduct occasional peer reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Gradually assume ownership of datasets and contribute to team projects
  • Develop an understanding of FiscalNote databases and procedures for content updates.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues based in the U.S. and India.
What Sets You Apart
  • Minimum one year of relevant work experience, including internships.
  • Proficiency in data entry with experience handling large datasets.
  • Basic familiarity with Internet tools, Microsoft Office, G Suite, and electronic media.
  • Fundamental understanding of governmental systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage tight deadlines without compromising accuracy.
  • Eagerness to learn new skills and technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills with proficiency in grammar and computer literacy.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as necessary.
  • Experience in database management. (Preferred)
