Role: Research and Communications Officer, Wipro Story Project
Location : Bangalore

We are looking for a passionate, driven individual who is creative, loves research, understands business and technology, and can tell a story in long and short form.

The Wipro Story Project
Wipros story is older than independent India. In 2016, we started to reconstruct the whole of it. We interviewed hundreds of people, collected a vast repository of material - documents, products, photographs, and memorabilia - and set up the Wipro Archives in 2017 to preserve this. Our first book, The Story of Wipro, released in 2021. We are now creating our first museum.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The work youll do:
Youll work closely with the Wipro Archives and the Museum teams to develop multimedia content including print, online, interactive, infographics, podcasts and videos on the story of Wipro.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Researching and building upon the story of Wipro, making relevant connections with changes in policy, economy, and technology, setting it in the context of business and history.
• Creating content and curating archival material relevant to exhibits, museum programs, archival projects, digital outreach, and internal comms.
• Collaborating with production, design and tech partners who work with approved content.
• Taking ownership of strategy and quality of storytelling, setting guidelines for language use, writing style, effectiveness, and production parameters.
• Bringing an outside-in lens to craft content and channel strategy to engage intended audience.
• Working with the Museum and Archives teams to communicate the story of Wipro through guided tours for visitors to the Wipro Museum.

This is a full-time, in-office role that will require travel.

Qualifications:

Essential:

• 8-10 years of proven writing experience in museum communications, or a design studio, or a cultural institution.
• Previous experience in business research and reporting and/or corporate business communication role will be an advantage.
• You need to have excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
• A successful candidate will be a digital native, creative, collaborative, detail-oriented, with proven ability to communicate complex concepts in simple, accessible language.
• Business journalists and museum professionals based in Bangalore will be preferred.

Preferred skills:

• Experience with museum and/or multimedia content.
• Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, as well as with larger, diverse teams in allied functions.
