If you would like some flexibility then please discuss this with the hiring manager. Introduction: Work with the Senior Leads to deliver on the agreed CI/CD strategy. Support DevOps initiative to move our current applications in a delivery model that supports Cloud, CI/CD, automated testing and deployment of infrastructure as code. Responsible for creating technology solutions to meet business requirements, in line with Cluster and Group IT Strategies and Architectures Demonstrate ownership and control of Corporate / Payments owned code assets Be recognised as an expert in the field of SCM discipline Work with the relevant Project personal to provide innovative solutions to meet the Change / Release / Implementation demands demanded by the Business Provide day to day management and guidance to the technical subject matter experience Provide ad-hoc consultancy as required to the business on technical matters The Release Orchestration Lead will be responsible for the Release management of the Test Environment landscapes such as ST, SIT, UAT, FOF, OAT and NFT used by Corporate & Payments clusters and the responsibilities include overseeing of setting up of Release calendars, facilitating deployments, troubleshooting environment issues during deployments and stakeholder management etc. To work closely with the stakeholders and the head of EaaS-Preservation to own and implement service delivery initiatives. To oversee day to day release management activities and help prioritise the tasks for the team. To escalate and Report as required. To Line manage and develop permanent and contractor type staffs What will you be doing Actively contribute to the realisation of the EaaS aims and objectives including that of the compliance with Barclays control objectives through process controls and validation Be creative & innovative when designing solutions, that provides focus on the customer and user experience but minimising the cost impact to the business wherever possible Ensure progress of work using appropriate lean and agile methods/techniques minimising waste in close collaboration with change delivery teams Proactively manage client expectations and demands while maintaining excellent client relationships. Identify and manage risks in the day to day activities, and report these to the Lead in an appropriate manner Clear vision and plan shared with team with regular feedback to avoid ambiguity. Quarterly review on progress with feedback leading to action. Team development via regular 121\'s and management of Ambition Diaries and Monthly progress logs. Enabling the team by providing the right tools that encourage collaboration Lead, develop and collaborate a strong virtual team ethos bringing together disparate skill sets from across the business to shape change initiatives providing clear standards, approaches and tools Set an appropriate level of challenge to own team and internal partners in order to continually demonstrate improvement in the quality and quantity of delivery Understand, own and role model Barclays values and behaviours creating an environment that supports and embeds these Encourages the building of staff knowledge/expertise and helps colleague to provide them with a sense of identity. Work closely with the leads and undertake ownership and implement the management initiatives. Work with the leads in order to setup team objectives that reflect department strategies and improves the services. Improve processes and ensure best practices are up to date with the team. Oversee and Manage all the service offerings of the release management service for pre-production environments such as Deployments and application upgrades, setting up of Release calendars and Release plans, Managing Release related artefacts. Ensure monitoring of release related attributes on all the non-production assets are up-to-date using Barclays in-house monitoring tools. Ensure Environment release management processes for all activities are reviewed /updated/followed from time to time based on changing customer and management expectations. Preserve and enhance the knowledge base of release management activities by appropriate documentations and by conduct and organising sessions. Ensure no single point of failures in the team and there is continuity in providing the required services for the customers. Foresee risks and create risk management solutions as appropriate. A suitable candidate for this role should have strong experience in Release Management, good hands-on experience on release management, deployment and Change management tools. Should also have good understanding on common infrastructure components and how they fit together and interact. Should have experience in leading a team with people management skills. Coupled with this, the candidate should come across as calm intelligent and articulate with a strong telephone manner. They should be able to demonstrate examples of innovation and enhancement in their assignments. What we\'re looking for: Good hands-on experience with continuous integration / continuous deployment methodology and other common DevOps tools including Git/Stash, Jenkins and Nexus Sonarqube and configuration tools such as Chef, Chef, Kubernetes, Kafka, Containers, Docker & ApaaS. Hands-on experience on JIRA - Jenkins integration through REST APIs/ CURL. Linux shell scripting, expect shell scripting and windows batch scripting experience Well versed in internet architectures, including web, application, and database components such as Apache, Jboss, MySQL. Working experience in Openshift V3/Docker to build, configure, deploy & maintain Applications in Platform as a Service (PaaS) Specialist in the transforming application under tools like VSS, SVN, Clearcase to GIT / Stash Ability to work under pressure and to manage others in same situation whilst ensuring that quality is maintained Able to work in shifts to cover UK hours as well as to support UK hours. Ability to influence stakeholders through reasoned argument Proven history of Release Environment and Configuration Management of software and hardware products Experience evaluating and driving adoption of new process workflows in medium to large organizations Skills that will help you in the role: Capability to design build and provide end to end solutions for DevOps CI/CD automation Versed in working in OpenStack, Containerisation etc. Scripting skills in languages such as Bash, Perl, Python etc. Experience with Maven scripting and Java scripting along with Ant build knowledge for package creation and deployment. ITIL V3 certified at foundation level.
