Carrier and other Vendor Relationships
FCL/LCL Pricing for Exports / Imports
Constant review of costs and aim to achieve best costs
Ocean Freight Operations & Documentation
Data Quality & Compliance
Coordination with Network offices
Representation of DGF in Trade and Industry meetings
Gathering and Providing Market intelligence
Proposing new Product launches
Motivating and Leading the Ocean Freight Product team
Key activities
Is responsible for the operating result of the region and offices under its responsibility
Is responsible for Achievement of Budget / targets
Analyses costs and cost structure with the aim of reducing them
Ensure that documentation both inward and outward is completed with given time frames
Communicate time frames to Deputy/ Assistant Managers and ensure adherence for:
Completion of LOGIS files with accurate CES and SES
Handover of documentation to FICO
Completion/couriering of overseas documentation of exports
Completion of customer documentation for imports/exports
Visit CFS and ensure that CFS space is mange efficiently
Review regularly LOGIS data quality and ensure that Costs and Revenue are correctly booked especially at month ends
Ensure that escalations due to non-reply by staff in the region are eliminated
Ensure that the fines and penalties due to delays in documentation or operations are avoided at all cost. Have processes in place to highlight such events.
Manage and supervise teams efficiency & quality per section regards to day to day operations
Hold regular meeting with M&S and FICO for better inter departmental coordination
Ensure that the staff are adequately trained to meet job requirements
Deal with carriers & other vendor to obtain best buying rates at the regional level
Manage FCL/LCL Pricing for Exports and Imports
Assist Head Ocean Freight in negotiating with the carriers/vendors
Provide market intelligence to OFR Head, ASPA on market freight rates for FCLxe2x80x99s and LCLxe2x80x99s
Liaise with carriers and Vendors on operational issues and conduct regular vendor meetings
Monitor and evaluate staff performance at the region
Handling complaint for customer and overseas
Ensure all carrier and vendor payments are done timely
Ensure invoice to customers and overseas are sent timely

Will lead a team of people, size depending on the Region

Knowledge on Ocean Freight Product (FCL & LCL) pricing for Exports & Imports
Trade Laws & Regulations
Pricing Structure
Knowledge of the Indian Export & Import Trade, Trade Lanes / Routes and their Key Drivers, Commodities, Major Players
Knowledge of the Indian Shipping & Logistics Industry including Ocean services to / from India and their Operations, ICD / CFS set up in India, LCL Consolidation Market, Major players in these segments

Ability to achieve high levels of service delivery
Expected years of experience
Experience: Minimum 10 yrs in the Shipping & Logistics Industry
Educational Qualifications
Education: Graduate or MBA/Equivalent from a reputed Institute.
