• Answering phone calls : Receptionists should answer calls professionally and pass them on to the right person. They may also take messages for people who are not in the office.
• Scheduling appointments : Receptionists are responsible for scheduling, rescheduling, and confirming appointments.
• Maintaining the reception area : Receptionists should keep the reception area clean, tidy, and free of tripping hazards.
• Receiving and sorting mail : Receptionists may receive and sort incoming mail.
• Restocking supplies : Receptionists should ensure that supplies are restocked when needed.
• Updating the filing system : Receptionists should keep the general office filing system up to date.
• Arranging conferences : Receptionists may liaise with senior management to arrange conferences.
