Key Responsibilities :
• Patient and Visitor Interaction :
• Greet patients and visitors warmly upon arrival.
• Provide accurate information about hospital services and procedures.
• Address queries and direct visitors to the appropriate departments.
• Appointment Scheduling :
• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments using the hospital's software.
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and administrative staff to manage appointment availability.
• Check-In and Registration :
• Assist patients with the check-in process, including filling out forms and verifying insurance details.
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in patient data entry.
• Communication :
• Answer and manage phone calls promptly and professionally.
• Relay messages to relevant departments or personnel.
• Billing and Payments :
• Handle billing inquiries and guide patients through payment processes.
• Issue receipts and maintain records of transactions.
• Administrative Support :
• Maintain and organize front desk documents and supplies.
• Prepare daily reports and assist with data entry tasks.
• Crisis Management :
• Act calmly and efficiently during emergencies, following established protocols.
• Coordinate with security and medical teams when needed.
• Compliance and Professionalism :
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies, including patient privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance of the front desk area.
Qualifications and Skills :
• Education : High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in administration or healthcare is a plus.
• Experience : Prior experience as a receptionist or in a customer-facing role in a hospital is preferred.
• Technical Skills : Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with hospital management software.
• Interpersonal Skills : Excellent communication, patience, and empathy in dealing with patients and their families.
• Organizational Skills : Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem-Solving : Quick thinking and resourcefulness in addressing issues.
