Position: Receptionist

Job Summary:

The Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while managing inquiries and facilitating patient check-in and administrative tasks. This role requires excellent communication, multitasking skills, and a compassionate attitude to support patients and their families.

1. Front Desk Operations:

- Greet patients, visitors, and vendors with a warm and professional demeanor.

- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently.

- Maintain an organized and welcoming reception area.

2. Patient Interaction:

- Collect and verify patient information and documents.

- Guide patients and visitors regarding hospital policies, procedures, and directions within the facility.

- Address and resolve basic patient queries; escalate more complex issues as needed.

3. Appointment Scheduling and Coordination:

- Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments as per the hospital guidelines.

- Manage appointment calendars for physicians and other healthcare providers.

- Notify healthcare providers of patient arrivals and manage any scheduling conflicts.

4. Administrative Support:

- Answer, screen, and direct incoming calls in a courteous and timely manner.

- Manage and sort incoming and outgoing mail, documents, and packages.

- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and updating patient records.

5. Billing and Payments:

- Inform patients of co-pays or outstanding balances as required.

- Collect payments and issue receipts.

- Collaborate with the billing department to ensure smooth payment processes.

6. Emergency and Safety Protocols:

- Act quickly and efficiently in emergency situations by following hospital protocols.

- Notify appropriate personnel and provide accurate information in emergencies.
