Partnerships Team is one of the three units within the RMP section. The Partnerships Team drives best in class alliances with Major donors, Foundations and Corporates in India. It also develops the partnerships strategy and internal processes to ensure efficient and effective coordination across all UNICEF actors.Within the Partnerships Unit, the purpose of the Philanthropy Partnerships Team is to drive impact through partnerships with foundations, major donors, membership-based organizations (MBO) and faith-based organizations (FBO) in India, defined as financial and non-financial resources in addition to other valuable assets and opportunities. The team supports India Country Office with partnership strategies and in securing partnership that bring quality resources to optimize the partnership value to achieve UNICEF\'s strategic goals and to deliver programmes for children in India.How can you make a difference?If you are a committed, creative professional and are passionate about making a lasting difference for children, the world\'s leading children\'s rights organization would like to hear from you.The purpose of the Philanthropy Fundraising Unit is to drive resource growth from foundations, major donors, membership-based organizations (MBO) and faith-based organizations (FBO) in India as part of an integrated philanthropy engagement strategy. Resource growth will come from these sources: i) the renewal and growth of existing in-country and multi-country partnerships, ii) the development of new strategic partnerships and iii) the support team with account stewardship.Under the direct supervision of the Partnerships Manager, this post will develop new partnerships and manage key existing partnerships with the sector. The incumbent will develop and implement fundraising strategies to focus on maximizing value from India-based major donors and foundations in support of the country programme\'s priority focus.Key functions, accountabilities and related duties/tasks:

  • Lead philanthropy team to inspire and engage a group of major donors and key foundations in India interested in promoting and supporting children\'s rights.
  • Map and prioritize the greatest opportunities with Ultra high net worth individuals, high net worth individuals, major donors and foundations in India to build relationships with senior stakeholders for maximizing influence, resources and knowledge that can advance UNICEF\'s mission.
  • Develop and secure strategic resources through new and existing philanthropic partnerships. This will primarily include foundation, major donors, however, could also include MBOs and FBOs.
  • Build and manage internal and external networks to assist in the identification, cultivation and solicitation of support in India.
  • Develop propositions and outreach plans for foundations and major donors and lead on partnership negotiations, proposal submissions and pitches.
  • Leading the new business process from prospect identification to securing first meetings, through the contract signature for assigned prospects.
  • Providing inputs in the development of the philanthropy fundraising strategy for India Country Office (ICO).
  • Working with ICO programmes and communication colleagues to identify propositions for philanthropy prospects, particularly for major grant and foundation opportunities where significant proposition development is required.
  • Manage Field visits and other stewardship activities related directly to your prospects and partners.
  • Oversee other project documentation, assuring accuracy and consistency with established rules, regulations and plans of action, especially in agreed strategic plan which ensures maximum effectiveness of fund availability from new donors as well as maximum diversification of risks.
  • Supervise, oversee and monitor foundation and major donor teams.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have\xe2\x80\xa6Education:
  • An Advanced University Degree in marketing, international development, business administration, advertising or a degree in social sciences or any other relevant field.
OR
  • A first University Degree in marketing, international development, business administration, advertising or a degree in social sciences or any other relevant field combined with 2 additional years (minimum 7 years in total) of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree or any other relevant discipline.
Experience:
  • A minimum of five years of relevant professional work experience in acquiring new high value partners like Business, Foundations and Major Donors.
  • Experience in working or managing major donors and foundations preferred.
  • Fundraising experience will be a preference.
Language Requirements:
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
