For over 60 years, we have worked closely with our customers around the globe to develop innovative solutions to ever-changing challenges, known under names such as Axicom, Bowthorpe EMP, Crompton Instruments, Raychem and Simel.ROLE OBJECTIVEThe Senior Product engineer will report to the Supervisor, Product Design Engineering in Energy\'s Bangalore Engineering Design Center team. The role will be responsible for Computer Aided design of products and sustaining engineering support for TE Energy products for LV, MV & HV applications and engineering support for existing products to sustain in the competitive market. The role will support one of TE Energy\'s product lines including Solar Harness, Insulation & Protection, Connectors & fittings for LV, MV & HV applications.Responsibilities:

• Assist in designing TE Energy products for LV, MV & HV applications using polymeric, insulating and metallic materials.
• Assist global team with sustaining and New Product Developments across a range of Energy engineering projects.
• Recording results of design reviews and design decision meetings and report writing.
• 3D CAD design using Creo/Pro-E & 2D CAD design
• Product Data management using Windchill PDMLink
• Assess drawings & calculate the tolerance based on Stack-up analysis, process-based tolerance & referring to standards.
• Prepare design verification test plans, leading Design FMEAs.
• Work on product testing, qualification & Work with supplier for DFM & design reviews.
• Designing molds for prototypes & design of jigs & fixtures for product testing.
• Be a strong technical partner and provide support to Product management teams. Attend/support customer design review meetings, technology days etc..
• Executing on cost optimization/reduction (VA/VE) opportunities for the business.
• Reverse Engineering of competitor products.

Desired Candidate Profile:EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE

• Mechanical Engineering Degree (OR Industrial Production) or higher.

8 years of product development experience in Energy Domain

• Experience in product design of Energy domain products (Overhead connectors, cable accessories, Solar connectors, Joints/Splices, Terminations Switchgear connect, Insulators, Surge arrestors, HVCS, etc.)
• Solid knowledge of Metal Casting Process, Metal Fabrication Processes, Plastic/rubber components, e.g. thermoset molding or rubber molding
• LDFSS or DMAIC 6-sigma green or black belt certification an advantage.
• Organized, methodical and self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently on own initiative and meet own commitments is essential.
