Job Overview TE Connectivity\'s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems. Responsibilities Validate concept designs using simulation techniques and determine design robustness, critical to function requirements. Deploy FEA Techniques - implicit and explicit approach, using Software tools like Ansys Work Bench, ICEPAK, LS-Dyna, Hypermesh. Monitor and evaluate simulation software capabilities and industry trends. Deploy standardized process and work methodology Train and develop capability of the team to be a multi-skilled resource pool. Benchmark implement productivity improvement methods. Track monitor metrics for sustained performance covering quality & delivery. Collaborate with design & validation teams to enhance the design optimization. Work with Engineering team of all value streams within ADM for simulation and recommend design changes as applicable. Expert in ability to read engineering drawings/product prints. Prepare, monitor, update & maintain all engineering documentation Coordinate with stakeholders to understand and document the scope of work. Consistent and effective communication/reporting with/to stakeholders on status updates. Work under time pressure but produce accurate results. Skillset 5-10 years of industry experience Perform Electro-magnetic simulation for electronics and electrical components Multi-physics exposure with Electrical, Magnetic and Thermo-Mechanical simulation Ability to think strategically and formulate plans for execution to achieve business goals Experience in electrical & mechanical design consideration for electrical and electromechanical product development in industrial / aerospace / automotive / medical / energy domain Experience in understanding top level functional requirement of a product and designing the components/subsystems to meet Product Performance criteria Ability to communicate effectively and accurately across multi-cultural groups Strong Conceptual, problem solving and Analytical Skills Capable of Handling Multiple Projects simultaneously Profile Ability to create and sustain best practices Should be Self-Motivated, Adaptive, Passionate about results and a Good Team Player. Analyzing and documenting competitor benchmarking results Strong Technical Aptitude with Willingness to explore & learn new technologies. Demonstrated Experience of working in a fast paced and changing environment with tight deadlines Knowledge of six sigma tools will be an added advantage. Knowledge of Global Certifications and Regulatory Standards (UL, IEC, MIL etc.) is an advantage Willingness to Travel for project requirements as required Qualification and Experience BE/ B.Tech (Mechanical/Electrical) M Tech (Mechanical/Electrical domains) (preferred) Solid understanding of electro-magnetic theory, properties of magnetic materials and winding techniques for magnetic components. Good understanding of thermal, mechanical, and packaging challenges associated with design of magnetics. Expertise on CAE tools, Optimization techniques, and testing methods Understanding of LEAN / 6 Sigma / Kaizen techniques. Correlation of Test and simulation data / results.
