Job Description


Job Overview:As a Summer Intern with Gartner for 9 weeks, you will be part of the PR&I team, providing support to address mission-critical management challenges faced by senior functional executives at leading global organizations. In this role, you will work in a fast-paced agile environment to perform primary/secondary/ quantitative research, along with project and data management.What You Will Do:

  • Conduct research for various business challenges using both systematic primary and secondary research techniques leveraging internal and external data assets
  • Assist with data collection efforts through administration of panel and client survey data using primary and secondary methods; use design-thinking principles and established best practices to analyze secondary data and survey questionnaires; demonstrate basic understanding of survey fielding, data collection, data preparation, descriptive analysis and benchmarking
  • Conduct data analysis using frameworks, such as hypothesis testing, statistical techniques and qualitative analysis, to generate insights that fuel executive decision making
  • Conceptualize and create insightful research story, graphics, user-friendly data tables and benchmarks that reflect an understanding of client objectives; basic understanding of data science techniques (R, Python) and visualization tools preferred
  • Ensure quality, accuracy and defensibility of data-driven insights in research deliverables
  • Establish clear understanding of roles, requirements, project management plan and success criteria at project kickoff; perform optimum risk analysis and troubleshooting, wherever applicable
  • Collaborate with project managers, subject matter experts and peers to identify areas where qualitative or quantitative analysis can play a role in strengthening Gartner research
  • Create, assimilate and convey research material in a concise and effective manner

What You Will Need:
  • Understanding of exploratory qualitative and quantitative research and statistical modeling using structured and/or unstructured data
  • Practical understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills)
  • Understanding of basic statistical concepts and their use cases, and basic knowledge of SPSS/R/Python fundamentals
  • Problem solving and logical reasoning skills
  • Project management skills; proven competence for meeting deadlines, multitasking under pressure and managing work under ambiguity
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and with a drive to create and communicate high-impact storylines
  • Ability to collaborate with globally distributed team members from diverse backgrounds
  • Basic knowledge of advanced Excel, data visualization and dashboarding tools would be an added advantage
