DescriptionYou as a R&D Team Manager will be part of Hitachi Energy business-based Chennai, Tamil Nadu. You will be able to lead a team with strong people management skills, to deliver the value, expected from the team. The team manager is expected to define and implement both long term and short-term strategies, for the team, as per the overall organization strategy.Your Responsibilities:The team manager shall be responsible for continuous development, appraisal, and career planning of team members, in line with the organizational requirements. Strategies shall be formulated for the team, to complement the value to be delivered, continuously. Processes shall be defined and implemented for the activities and deliverables. Ensure quality and timely deliverables, collaborating and coordinating with all concerned teams and organizations, both internal and external, as per the projects and products plans.   • Work together with the Product Management to plan and execute projects. Ensure that teams have appropriate product and technical specifications, direction, and resources to deliver products effectively by establishing realistic estimates for timelines while ensuring that projects remain on target to meet deadlines.
  • Work closely with the Product Management, for the system\'s functional and nonfunctional requirements for defining the Product Vision
  • Demonstrate leadership abilities with the deployment of software upgrades, enhancements and fixes that are coordinated based on release schedules. Coordinate release planning
  • Provide a software development plan that meets the future needs of our clients and markets, based on the state-of-the-art technologies.
  • Continuously review for capacity and competency requirements for the team and input the same for strategy formulation.
People
  • Recruit personnel as per Head Count budget, for right competency and capacity, as per team\xe2\x80\x99s current & future needs, strategically.
  • Responsible for structured onboarding, induction and training, for efficient, effective and faster value generation, from the team members
  • Perform appraisals, identify areas for development and guide team for career planning & growth.
  • Create and take necessary actions for effective succession planning within the team for key positions, to ensure sustainability of deliverables, activities and responsibilities.
  • Act as the first point of contact for the Team members, for both activities as well as HR related topics.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development.
Strategic
  • Participate in unit\xe2\x80\x99s strategic work and develop team strategy and road maps for products & deliverables, as needed and implement the same.
  • Work for future scope expansion and competence development.
  • Drive operation development for the organization.
Operational
  • Achieve KPI\xe2\x80\x99s for the team (e.g., On Time Delivery, Quality, Efficiency / Productivity etc.)
  • Continuously review for capacity and competency requirements for the team and input the same for strategy formulation.
  • Achieve financial parameters for the team (Project Utilization, Invoicing etc.)
  • Accountable for the team as per HITACHI ENERGY Group compliance, Integrity, Health & Safety.
Your Background:
  • Masters / Graduate degree in engineering (computer science / Information technology / Electrical & Electronics or Electronics and communication).
  • Total of around 10 years+ experience, with proven 5+ years in People management with assessments, competency development, strategy planning and implementation.
  • Recruitments & onboarding of team members for right competency and capacity, to meet current organizational requirements and future strategies.
  • In managing / leading a team, for activities or project for planning, resources allocation, implementation, reviews, and reporting.
  • In Software Development or similar areas
  • With Good process knowledge, Agile / Scrum, SAFe is an added advantage.
