About the jobOur Team:The Global R&D Portfolio Strategy and Management team works with key stakeholders across the organization (R&D and GBUs) to support portfolio & project decision-making aligned to our corporate strategy and agreed TA strategies. The team\xe2\x80\x99s remit is to:

  • Use advanced analytics to inform and shape decision making by senior leadership (e.g., stage gate analysis to determine optimal development strategy, scenario analysis, decision trees, pipeline sustainability, etc.). The Therapeutic Area (TA) Leads work with the Global Project teams (GPTs) to present these analytics at key Go/No go decisions during Governance meetings. The R&D Portfolio Strategy team ensures the consolidation of these analyses into a holistic TA and cross-TA portfolio view (pipeline volume, risk, value) with data visualization tools and makes recommendations as to optimize utilization of resources and facilitate trade-off discussion amongst senior leaders.
  • Ensure R&D asset, TA and Company pipeline valuation (including evolution of risk) are done in a continuous, rigorous, and comparable basis across Sanofi Research and Development Pharma and Vaccines, including the development of standard tools and an effective review process. Provide challenge to cross-functions and project teams\xe2\x80\x99 assumptions via quantitative analyses of previous Sanofi performance and external benchmarks, integration of internal data available and external Open-source information using artificial intelligence approaches to draw insights, and continuously identifying new sources of data that can inform quantitative analyses.
  • Ensure robust pipeline reporting and benchmarking to support the R&D and portfolio strategy and portfolio sustainability linked to the external equity story in partnership with Investor Relations.
  • Ensure robust external competitive intelligence insights to drive technology investments and asset strategy decisions.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced R&D Portfolio Analytics Manager to join our team at our offshore hub in India. As an R&D Portfolio Manager, you will play a critical role in driving innovation, optimizing portfolio performance, and ensuring efficient resource allocation. Your expertise in cross-therapeutic area analytics, NPV (Net Present Value) calculation, and portfolio simulation will be invaluable in shaping our R&D strategy.Main responsibilities:Portfolio Analytics and Strategy:
  • Perform data checks to lock portfolio valuation each month and push to PLai (AI enabled decision intelligence tool) including testing prior to publishing.
  • Conduct cross-therapeutic area analytics to identify synergies and growth opportunities.
  • Support Portfolio Strategy Week and Strategy Days cross TA analytics
Financial Evaluation and NPV Calculation:
  • Evaluate project proposals and assess their financial viability.
  • Calculate NPV for R&D projects, considering costs, risks, and expected returns.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Business Development teams to align investment decisions with strategic objectives.
Portfolio Simulation and Optimization:
  • Use advanced modelling techniques to simulate different portfolio scenarios.
  • Optimize resource allocation across projects to maximize overall portfolio value.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust the portfolio as needed based on changing priorities.
About youSkills that you have:
  • Experience: \xe2\x89\xa55 years of experience in pharmaceuticals/healthcare industry; Managing complex data/visuals. Familiarity with cross-therapeutic area analytics and portfolio simulation tools. Experience with Enrich a plus.
  • Soft skills: Team spirit, cross-functional work, proactivity, ability to carry out certain tasks independently. Ability to draw out key messages from complex data and analytics.
  • Technical skills: Management of complex data elements; Data analytics and Data visualisation skills (Excel including macros, Powerpoint, Enrich); analytical skills. Proficiency in NPV calculation and financial modelling.
  • Education: Bachelor\'s degree required. Core training in data sciences a plus; additional training to understand the R&D environment in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Languages: English (all data, reports and interactions with business stakeholders are managed in English)
