We are looking to hire a R&D Officer, Human Microbiome, BPC - Science & Technology in our Personal Care - R&D - Science & Technology team based in Unilever R&D Bangalore

Main Job Purpose:

The candidate will take in charge of managing the Microbiology lab requirements. The candidate will also provide technical support for generating scientific data and coordinate various 3P lab activities. The candidate will also work with technical team to build capability to support early prototype formulations.

Key Responsibilities:

End to end ownership of Microbiology lab operations/requirements - responsibility of handling biological samples, critical lab instruments like autoclave and managing inventory of lab consumables.

Technical support for generating scientific data for key projects - basic Microbiology assays, 3P lab networking.

Work with technical team to support early prototype formulations.

The candidate is expected to learn new in-vitro assays and be able to run them following Unilever safety standards.

Collaborate across S&T global teams and with Design team.

Key Requirements:

We are looking for a person with right attitude and competencies. Candidates with one or two years of experience in FMCG R&D (S&T and/or Design) or CRO labs is preferred.

Education: Post Graduate or Graduate degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related areas with a high First class.

Background/Experience: Experience in Microbiology, basic knowledge on analytical techniques, surfactants. Experience in formulation would be an added advantage but not necessary.

Good experimentation skills and able to interpret results. Manage the day-to-day work independently.

Able to capture data and compile in a systematic way \xe2\x80\x93 using ELN- electronic lab notebook/ STR \xe2\x80\x93 Scientific reports/power point data presentation.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools like Word, Excel & power point

Ensuring compliance to Internal Unilever protocols while working with respect to commitment to safety and environment.

Soft skills: Good communication, time managing, multi-tasking, networking, team collaboration, eagerness to learn, Bias for action, passion for high performance.
