Job Description

Role and Responsibilities:

• Engineer would be responsible for buiding system software components running on Linux/Fabric OS.
• The components would be part of the network datapath and platform elements.
• They can be user or kernel level components.
• Should be able to troubleshoot and support the datapath and platforms components for multiple parallel releases.
• Should be able to work with technical teams across geographies, and various time zones.
• Performance tuning of the datapath components to meet the scalability requirements.
• Porting the components to new Linux kernels.
• Address security vulnerabilities that are mostly in Linux.
• Work closely with the testing, documentation and customer support teams.
• Should be in position to travel for business needs (as per above roles and responsibilities)

Skills required:

• Must have 4-year undergraduate degree, and Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree preferred, with Major or Minor in Computer Science or Information Systems
• Must have minimum of 10 years of work experience in a software product company.
• Should have worked on network datapath drivers in C under Linux environment.
• Should have complex network device platform bring up experience, hardware monitoring s/w development experience.
• Should have knowledge of atleast one scripting language, preferable Python.
• Exposure to assembly language, hardware system design is an added advantage.
• Network control plane protocol development experience is an added advantage
• Must be familiar with Software Development Life Cycle for a product that has multiple release streams, and must have gone through the software development process at least once in their past work experience
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills to take requirement, develop external functional specs, unit test plan, and implementation design specs
