Chief Technology Officer - Neosky

About NeoSky :
NeoSky is a wholly owned subsidiary of RattanIndia enterprises (REL). RattanIndia group is a business conglomerate with two listed companies, having a combined revenue of around Rs.7300 Cr in 2022, a market cap of around Rs.8000 Cr (~ $1 Bn) and employs around 2700 employees. REL is into new age tech businesses like eCommerce, Drones, EV\'s, FinTech and Fashion brands.

NeoSky has strong presence in Drone manufacturing, Training & Services directly and through its subsidiary \'Throttle Aerospace\'. The company has India\'s first DGCA approved drone, has license to make drones for defence, qualified for government\'s PLI scheme and has DGCA- license for remote pilot training.

Role:

NeoSky is expanding rapidly and looking for a dynamic, visionary, tech leader for the CTO role. As a CTO, the candidate will drive Product strategy, product development & innovation, delivering high-quality products. As a leader, CTO is expected to drive the company to the next level.

Key Responsibilities:

- Technology Strategy: Develop and execute the company\'s overall technology vision, which is aligned with the business goals. You will create cutting-edge drone technologies and provide technical leadership and guide a young team of techies. Discover and implement new technologies that yield competitive advantage. Building the right framework for data protection.

- Product Development: To create a product roadmap with clear objectives, deliverables. Segment the market and create a good Product-Market-Fit for the relevant segments. Create tech stack that is stable, easy to scale up. Balancing focus between existing products and NPD (New Product Development) to ensure competitiveness. Products include Quadcopters & Fixed wing. Ensuring high quality products are delivered to our customers. Building agility to innovate and create new variants in the shortest time possible to meet the demands of our customers (Ex. Bids). Key KRA\'s include Revenue, NPS (Customer satisfaction), Time to launch a new product, Product BOM & margin profile.

- Project management: Prioritising projects based on the goals, allocating the right resources needed to achieve the project timelines. Explore internal & external resources, collaboration to ensure smooth implementation of the critical projects. Hands-on experience on project management tools.

- Team Management: You are expected to build and lead a talented and motivated team of techies. Team will comprise talent from hardware & design, software, AI / ML, UX/UI designers, App developers and the testing team. Set KRA\'s, provide mentorship and build a result-oriented, metric-driven team. Synchronize the efforts of the tech teams across NeoSky and its subsidiary.

- Quality management & Documentation: Responsible for Total quality management of the drone performance. Drive quantifiable delivery metrics on the performance of the drone, ensure trust on our products from our customers, there by reducing our Warranty costs. Should be good at documentation like Type Certification, BIS etc.

- Industry Trends & External orientation: You are expected to monitor and analyze industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape, providing strategic recommendations to drive the company\'s growth. To be a thought leader, drive the culture of technology-orientation across the organization. Represent the company externally when & where needed.

Requirements:

- Education: Bachelor\'s degree in aerospace / mechanical /computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A master\'s or Ph.D. in a relevant discipline is preferred.

- Experience: Proven track record of at least 10-15 years in technology leadership roles, preferably in the drone, Aerospace industry or a related field.

- Drone Expertise (At least some of them): Strong understanding of drone technologies, including flight control systems, Aerodynamics, Design, sensors, computer vision, autonomous navigation, and related software. Should have knowledge and experience in software development, cloud computing, data analytics, machine learning, and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies.

- Should have built Rotar craft, Fixed wing UAV\'s from scratch. Experience in Surveillance, Cargo & Agriculture drones is preferable. Someone with a very good vendor connection is preferable.

- Type Certification: Handled the type certification process earlier.
