Responsible for executing model validation activities, including validation, annual review, ongoing monitoring, findings management, and model use approvals for Tier 1, 2 or 3 models. May coordinate a team of 1-2 quantitative model validators to test and evaluate the conceptual soundness of models and assess limitations and suitability for use.
Subject matter expert in a key model risk area such as Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learnings, Statistical and Stochastic processes, Finance/Banking/Econometrics, or Insurance Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for managing and executing model validation activities, including validation, annual review, ongoing monitoring, assess model tiering (Tier 1, 2 or 3 models)
• Assessment of conceptual soundness of the models, including the model limitation, assumption, model performance and suitability of model parameters.
• End-to-end independently validation of models and finalize validation findings along with remediation plans followed by preparation of model validation report.
• Facilitate clear and effective communication to the stakeholder and internal teams on model validation results.
• Assessment of model monitoring and implementation process along with calibration technique.
• Review internally and externally developed risk models across the model risk management space.
• Subject matter authority in the key model risk area of Stress testing and Capital Adequacy Analysis, Financial and Investment Risk, and Market Risk.
Required Qualifications:
• Has a minimum of 7 years of experience in model risk management in banking or insurance.
• Has a master's degree in science, math, statistics, or related area.
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD
Familiar with SR 11-7/OCC 2011-12.
