Quality Specialist

You will be working as a Quality Specialist and will be part of Motion Business Area for IEC LV Motors Division based in Faridabad, India. In this role you will be reporting to Quality Manager and will be responsible in developing and maintaining quality systems to support internal and external quality standards. Participating with internal teams in quality system implementation and serving as ongoing support for quality issues.

Your responsibilities

• Developing and preparing the quality plans for in-process and final inspection ac-cording to control plan for the various processes in shop floor
• Defining processes and procedures in accordance with standard requirements and ABB Group procedures, directive, and policies on quality and issue SOP for the process
• Performing periodic internal process audits to check the compliance of activities with requirements, procedures and directives. Preparing non-conformity re-ports and investigating their resolution
• Analyzing customer complaints and initiate preventive actions, align quality processes as per customer requirements through process audits and mistake proofing methods
• Submitting countermeasure reports to customer in case of line complaints or warranty failures in desired formats i.e., 5WHY, 8D, RCA (Root Cause Analysis report)
• Collecting and maintaining data on key performance indicators i.e., cost of poor quality, process audits and customer complaints
• Initiating L6S projects and report with cost savings

Your background

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical engineering
• Minimum 10 to 12 years of experience in induction motor manufacturing/rotating machines
• Thorough knowledge about the key manufacturing process of induction motor including impregnation and painting
• Ability to communicate with customer queries on technical requirements and handle customer complaints
• Understanding about induction motor testing methods
• Good knowledge on Lean 6 Sigma
